Biography:
Albert Genette was a photographer covering the OADF 108th Tactical Fighter Squadron; stationed on Sand Island AFB, due to word of a unique squadron leader stationed there. Genette was flying in the rear seat of Captain Jack Bartlett's F-4G as he babysat nugget pilots when unmarked aircraft attacked the formation of training aircraft. During this engagement, all but three of the trainees were killed. While in be backseat of the F-4, Genette took several pictures of the battle. Upon his return to the airbase at Sand Island, base security confiscated his camera and film due to security reasons.

Genette was assigned to the press corps, and his camera, film and gear were returned to him by base security. He covered a wide range of subjects, including the famous article "The Four Wings of Sand Island", covering Sand Island's ace Wardog squadron. He interviewed subjects like Orson Perrault, who chased him away in a rage, and Peter Beagle, who Wardog members affectionately called "Pops."

Genette maintained contact with his journalist friends in Osea's capital city Oured, and learned that President Harling hadn't been seen in the capital for months. He told his theory to Pops, who correctly surmised the president had disappeared soon after he was rescued from the transport plane Mother Goose One. Unfortunately, the Belkan Grey Men conspirators were a step ahead - they accused the entire Wardog Squadron, Pops and Genette of treason.

The Wardog pilots stole several training jets and escaped the island, even losing the skilled 8492nd Squadron in the volcanic island chain of the Solo Islands. After they had escaped, an F-14A stationed on the Kestrel intercepted them, and assisted their escape by shooting down their planes once they had ejected.

Genette took several more photographs on the Kestrel, including the famous picture of Osean President Harling and Yuktobanian Prime Minister Nikanor shaking hands. His role in the war, however, was over.

Several years later, Genette was assigned the task of covering the Leasath-Aurelia war. Enjoying lavish parties hosted by Leasath's commander in the occupied Aurelian capital, Genette grew tired and bored of covering the one-sided conflict.

This boredom likely contributed to his investigation of the location of the Aurelian aid money - and the discovery of the plans for Leasath's ultimate weapon. After the war, Genette sought an interview with Gryphus One, the "Southern Cross," Aurelia's ace pilot. He discovered both he and the Southern Cross had common ground when he learned Gryphus One had returned to Cape Aubrey fleeing the hot weather.
