Biography: (facts not depending on player's actions)
Born with Silverstone disease (the pigment offers no protection from sunlight), she is forced to wear a special spacesuit-looking suit to protect her from direct sunlight. Rena joined General Resource Ltd. in an early age of 9 for her extraordinary ability in piloting. There she was involved in the development of the Night Raven, ultimately receiving surgery for the OPTONEURON neural network needed to fly the X-49. In 2037, she was transferred to UPEO. She is a pilot for SARF, which formed in 2040, along with three other pilots. She always flew her blue Su-37R during her flight with SARF.

Her first mission in the corporate war was to stop Neucom transports over Expo City along with other SARF members. From then on, she flew on various missions for SARF. Until the decision of Megafloat and Mt. Lambert.

Biography: (facts influenced by player's certain actions)
There are five possible 'fate' for Rena Hirose from the Corporate War. Four with Ouroboros and one with SARF. For the Ouroboros path, there is only one pattern. She came from nowhere, destroyed the Megafloat and than engaged Nemo in battles. The only different thing is the location.

In the Ouroboros Ending, in one mission she (and her Night Raven) were destroyed inside the Geofront, two above Port Edwards (both night and day), and on one mission she sunk to the bottom of the Erusian ocean.

When the player decides on the SARF Path, Rena and her companion flew for various missions. She flew on a mission inside Hatties Ravine and above Expo City, canceling the General Resources' attack on the city where she found out that her enemy is no other than Abyssal Dision. And then she came in as reinforcement above Mt. Lambert just to tell the other pilot that the transport they have been escorting is on the run to Neucom. She gave the pilot Nemo a order to shoot down the transport along with Fiona at the helm. Various missions were flown by this ace until mission 'Bug Hunt' where she is 'bombed' by ANB because she was contaminated by nanobytes. She went to the Ouroboros' flying fortress and joined them for a moment before she was shot down. She was later rescued by Erich and Nemo from her wrecked aircraft.

...well, traditionally the Japanese give their family name first, then their given name.

...I would too, but my first name isn't Japanese, so it'd just sound stupid... dry.gif

Just FYI, the real-life equivelant of Silverstone Disease is Xeroderma pigmentosum.

Hey, you know, the story for Rena leads to various paths. But i really prefer the path who Rena survives. Ya know, it's not that i don't like Fiona (cause i know that if you choose to stay with Rena, you have to shot down Fiona's plane, and probably kill her), but i'm a fan of Rena, so i prefer to maintain her alive. Really, namco need to do a new version of Ace Combat 3, cause the 2 versions are too diferent. dry.gif

That, Timberwolf, we consider as the perfect ending.. Or at least the better of the rest, since we'll stick in the certain organization from start to finish..

Since we're going by the english language around here, I'm wondering if I should present her name the english way. Hirose Rena may confuse a few people...

One thing that always bugged me: how the hell did they discovered "extraordinary ability in piloting" in a 9 year old?

Well, after so many time, I finally can now play the AC3 Japanese Version. I really like the way you can choose different paths trough the story, but I'm really having a problem to understand everything that is said, since I don't know japanese. Even so, Rena is being my favorite caracter from the game. I still can't believe they've done a version without the story and the caracters that belong to it.
