Overview:
The Eurofighter is a single-seat, twin-engine, agile combat aircraft used in the air-to-air, air-to-ground and tactical reconnaissance roles. The design of the Eurofighter Typhoon is optimised for air-dominance performance with high instantaneous and sustained turn rates, and specific excess power. Special emphasis has been placed on low wing loading, high thrust-to-weight ratio, excellent all-round vision and carefree handling. The use of stealth technology is incorporated throughout the aircraft’s basic design.

The Eurofighter’s high performance is matched with excellent all-round vision, sophisticated attack, identification and defence systems which include the ECR 90 long range radar and Infra Red Search and Track (IRST) system, advanced medium and short range air-to-air missiles and a comprehensive electronic warfare suite to enhance weapon system effectiveness and survivability. Eurofighter Typhoon is intentionally aerodynamically unstable to provide extremely high levels of agility, reduced drag and enhanced lift. The unstable design cannot be flown by conventional means and the pilot controls the aircraft via a computerised, ‘fly by wire’ system.

The UK intended to procure 232 aircraft to replace the Tornado F.3 and the Jaguar. Deliveries to the Royal Air Force began in June 2002 and will run until the year 2014. The current estimated total procurement cost of the program to the UK is £15.9Bn.

Not because of that. It's because of the WWII fighter/attacker, the Hawker Typhoon

I understand your respect for the Hawker Typhoon Heinkel, but when you think about it, Typhoon II F.2 doesn't sound that appealing now doesn't it.

Neither does Lightning II, but there was already an aircraft called the lightning.

There's always, "Tiffy", and "Bombphoon" left. But then, given that the British were not alone in developing the aircraft, the other nations were probably not so keen on naming it the Typhoon.

Ribbon-Cobalt: I know, Somehow, I forgot to say, "not so", to, "keen on naming it the Typhoon". The post is edited.

Major edits made.

@ Grastens 7: Actually, the Germans weren't so hot on the name "Typhoon". Mainly because the British Hawker Typhoon was an aircraft used against Germany in WWII.

Grammar and spelling edited. I realized that fact on the Typhoon, too.

I saw an interesting program about fighter jets on the History Channel featuring a theorized dogfight between several squadrons of Typhoons and four F-22s. The F-22s owned. Stealth is a great asset in the real world.

Heinkel on Turbofans: Yes, nobody will notice tin foil turbofans in planes.

I am pretty sure it was Dogfights. The episode "Dogfights of the Future" had the F-22, the Su-35, the Su-47, the MiG-35 (which was awesome, by the way), and the Typhoon.

Actually it was the Rafale that was in that episode of Dogfights, not the Eurofighter. And yes Jake, the F-22s rocked.

After a few tries on AC6, AC2, and ACX; I have to say that this plane is amazing. It has outstanding acceleration, maneuverability, and performance. Its lacking defensive armor, but it'll get the job done. Outstanding plane.
Although, it wouldn't hurt to give the Typhoon some lacking ground offensive weapons.

I enjoy using this one as an anti-CFA-44 interceptor. It works quite well.
