YELLOW 13
- The Erusian Ace of Aces -

Personal Information:
Name: Unknown
Rank: Unknown (Most likely Major/Lieutenant Colonel)
Call Sign: Yellow 13
Nationality: Erusian
Age: Unknown
Sex: Male
Status: Killed in Action (Farbanti, September 19th, 2005, Op. Autumn Thunder)

Background Information:
Little is known about Yellow 13, including what he did before the Usean Continental War, or even his name. It appears that he had been an Ace for some time before the war, although he and his squadron's existence were not known by the other Usean nations before the conflict began. At some point before the war, Yellow 13 trained a woman, also known only by her call sign, Yellow 04, to be his wingman. Over time, they developed a strong bond. He was known to only fly in a five plane formation.

Yellow 13's personal philosophy was that of honor and chivalry. He yearned to fight challenging pilots, saying he would have no regrets if he were to be killed in the skies. He was not as proud in his kill record as he was in having the record of no wingman shot down. He disdained sabotage, which he found cowardly and dishonorable. His political and religious views are unknown.

During the early days of the war, 13 and his squadron played an important role, defending Stonehenge against aerial attacks from ISAF. During the first ISAF attack, Yellow 13 and his squadron quickly dispatched an assault force of 12 F-15 Eagles. Although ISAF initially tried to keep the Yellow Squadron's existence a secret, it's reputation spread through the ranks, until everyone knew about them. The Yellow Squadron had become a legend, and was feared by the ISAF's pilots.

As the war dragged on, the Yellow Squadron began conducting long range strikes into the remaining ISAF controlled territories. This saddened 13, as there were no longer Aces to challenge him. Around this time, Yellow 13 met up with a young San Salvacian boy, who he had orphaned during a dogfight over the city. He gave refuge to the boy, who began to grow attached to him.

After ISAF returned to the continent, Resistance attacks began to grow in frequency. In one case, almost all of the Yellow Squadron base's reserve supplies and fuel were destroyed. Yellow 04's plane was especially in need of repairs, but they were forced to sortie due to a surprise attack on Stonehenge. The Yellow squadron arrived late to the battlefield. Stonehenge had been destroyed, but Yellow Squadron engaged the pilot who destroyed the cannons regardless. During the ensuing dogfight, Yellow 04 was shot down and killed. Yellow 13 immediately ordered a withdrawal.

After 04's death, Yellow 13 never was the same. He grew despondent, and tried to keep the memories of 04 alive. He was not angry, as he praised the enemy pilot who had killed her and single handedly destroyed Erusea's trump card. As Erusiea's war effort began to weaken, many of Yellow 13's elite pilots were rotated out to shore up other squadrons, replaced by trainees with little airtime. The squadron's overall quality began to decline.

As the allies approached, Yellow 13 discovered that the daughter of a local bar's barkeeper, who he had also grown close with, was in fact part of the resistance. This shocked Yellow 13, as one of the people he hated turned out to be someone very close to him. 13, however, decided not to turn her in. After the fall of San Salvacion, the Yellow Squadron retreated with Erusea's ground forces towards their capital, Farbanti.

The squadron arrived late in the battle. The city was, for the most part, captured, and the fleeing Erusian officers, including Erusia's Supreme Commander, had been either shot down or killed. Even so, the squadron made one last stand for Erusea, giving everything they had. But it was not enough, as Mobius one, the ISAF pilot who destroyed Stonehenge, singlehandedly shot down the entire Yellow Squadron. 13 could not eject, and Yellow 13, the Erusian Ace of Aces, was killed above Farbanti, September 19th, 2005.

Here's a picture

From http://xtremelegendary-t.net/galbums/ac04/en/ac04_story.html, raised the contrast a bit by myself and cropped it.

It's either that or it's an example...

well, think of the insignias underneat the Y13 picture.

1. FEAF roundel... y13 is in feaf
2. aquilla squadron logo... y13 is in asq
3. dave jordan's wings.... y13 is dave jordan??

I think that it's more than likely. in fact, i'd be so confident that i might change the article to reflect this

I've seen that before, it's fan-made. The guy who made it was named Dave Jordan. He just put his name in there to subsitute Y13 name.

This is from the ACES WEB Site, it's not a fan made image.. It's been known for quite awhile that Y13 was David Jordan...

Hmm, maybe that's his real name, or is it Erusea's version of John Doe/Smith? It'd be really cool if that was Y13's confirmed name, but it's not. But whatever tongue.gif , it's nice to put a name to a face.

Could I be more wrong? However, the real Yellow 13 was German too.

But, it was certainly viable while it was around and when Yellow 13's name was not fully established. Where was it written (literally) that Yellow 13's real name was David Jordan? (or, the sources the ACES website uses)

Fixed the little mix-up in the start about now one knowing that Dave Jordan's name is Dave Jordan.

Hey, GAG-E, I'm sure I don't need to tell you this, but that could have been EASILY changed with Photoshop. In fact, I'm sure it was.

I think that, for informational purposes, the article name ought to remain "Yellow 13" just for people looking for information. Yellow 13 is what everyone knows him as in the first place.
