Mobius 1 was known as the hero and top ace of the ISAF Air Force during the Usean Continental War. His background before the war, even his name, is unknown.
In 2003, the nation of Erusea, lead by a fascist military dictatorship, invaded the neutral nation of San Salvacion and captured 'Stonehenge', a battery of railguns originally intended to shoot down incoming asteroid fragments in an attempt to secure control over the Usean continent. Under Erusian control, Stonehenge was transformed into a giant anti-aircraft system that covered most of the continent. Attempts to destroy it by the newly formed Independent State Allied Forces (or ISAF) were thwarted by a mysterious squadron of yellow jets. Unable to gain a foothold in the sky, the ISAF ground forces were forced to slowly pull back to the east. Eventually, about 99% of Mainland Usea was under Erusian control, St. Ark being the only city left under ISAF control. Due to the situation, ISAF's General Headquarters was moved to the island nation of North Point. An evacuation of all remaining forces on the continent to North Point seemed likely.
On September 19th, 2004, a flight of Erusian Tu-95 bombers were detected heading for Newfield Island, the home of Allenfort Air Base, the first line of defense against any aerial attacks directed at the GHQ on North Point. If it were to be destroyed, there would be nothing that could stop the Erusians from attacking North Point and winning the war. A carrier launched air wing, the 118th TFW, including the pilot known as Mobius One, was launched to intercept the bombers. The wing shot down all of the bombers before they could destroy the Air base. The 118th's next operation, which took place on October 5th, was to destroy the airbase they launched from, Rigley Air Force Base, ending the threat of aerial bombardment for the time being.
On October 10th, to allow the evacuation of ISAF forces from the mainland to go on in secret, Mobius One took part in a raid on the Mt. Schezna radar facility, knocking it out of commission.
With the troops successfully evacuated, ISAF's attention turned to Erusea's Aegir Fleet in Comberth Harbor, which was prepping for an invasion of North Point. To stop this, Mobius One took part in a one-two punch; first cutting off the air supply route to Comberth, then destroying the Oil Refinery/Rig complex in the Peyton Channel, depriving the Aegir Fleet of its chief fuel source. However, heavy losses were incurred when the Erusian's elite Yellow Squadron appeared in the battle zone and engaged retreating ISAF forces. On November 23rd, ISAF went ahead with an attack on Comberth itself. It was a resounding success, resulting in the complete destruction of the Aegir Fleet. This was one of the first morale boosters ISAF had in the entire war, and the first mission in which Mobius One made a name for himself. This also allowed ISAF to begin developing it's own invasion plans.
On December 16th, Mobius One lead a deep penetration strike on a Erusian solar power plant. Although the attack was successful, it took place inside the range of Stonehenge, which began firing on the position after the solar plant was destroyed. Mobius One witnessed the power of Stonehenge, as it took out many ISAF pilots, proving the skies over the mainland were still primarily under Erusian control.
On New Year's Eve, ISAF planned to launch a military spy satellite that would help with the upcoming landing on the mainland. Erusian Intellegence obtained information about this operationn and deployed a massive fighter operation, lead by Yellow Squadron, along with accompanying bombers, to destroy the satellite, as well as the surrounding facility, while the booster craft was still on the ground. ISAF aircraft engaged them, and what resulted was the largest dogfight of the entire war. When Mobius One arrived, he was able to shoot down most of the fighters and bombers, allowing the satellite to launch.
On January 24th, ISAF conducted a major landing operation in the South of the Usean Continent. Erusian defenses were fierce, but Mobius One was able to eliminate them, allowing ISAF to gain a foothold on the mainland. On February 28th, Mobius was part of the force attacking the Tango Line, the only thing between ISAF and the FCU Capital of Los Canas. The Erusians deployed Stonehenge in a defensive measure, but Mobius One was able to complete his objectives, allowing ISAF to push through and retake Los Canas. However, they knew they would not be able to get much further as long as Stonehenge was around.
On March 14th, two commercial airliners carrying Erusian defectors were attacked by FEAF fighters. This attack was subsequently repelled singlehandedly by Mobius One. The information provided by these defecters about Stonehenge gave ISAF the ability to plan an attack on the facility. On April 2nd, Mobius One lead the raid on Stonehenge and destroyed every one of its cannons. Yellow Squadron arrived on the scene after the cannon's destruction. Against the better judgement of the flight lead, one of the craft was damaged when a bomb detonated on their base, providing Mobius One with a deadly edge. Mobius One shot the plane down, forcing the rest of Yellow Squadron to retreat. Mobius claimed a dual victory, the destruction of Stonehenge and the downing of a member of the "Invincible" Yellow Squadron, a massive boost to the ISAF war effort which made Mobius One truly famous.
On May 25th, Mobius provided escort for damaged U-2 spy plane through a foggy valley filled with jammer balloons. Mobius One engaged the balloons and destroyed enough of them to allow the U-2 to navigate through the region. The information the plane had was about 'Megalith', a superweapon the Erusians were designing to replace Stonehenge. Although the weapon was not completed, it was believed it could be operational in a matter of months. With the threat of a new superweapon over their heads, ISAF started to accellerate their offensive operations.
On June 18th, Mobius One intercepted cruise missiles targeted at ISAF troops that were in the middle of a landing operation in northern Usea. One of the missiles were extremely agile and believed to be nuclear, showing how desperate Erusea was becoming.
On July 10th, ISAF forces entered the Erusian occupied city of San Salvacion, with the help of a local resistance movement. There was intense urban warfare, but Mobius One was able to weaken the Erusians considerably, and destroyed the bombers sent in to destroy the city. San Salvacion was liberated, and the Erusians began to retreat to the west, where they setup a defense line in the Whiskey Corridor. On August 16th, ISAF ground forces attacked the line, while the 118th flew cover. Mobius One ravaged the Erusian defenses, allowing ISAF to break the line and capture the field HQ. With the line broken, the Erusians fell back to their capital of Fabanti for the final battle. ISAF forces surrounded the city, beginning the siege of Farbanti.
On September 19th, a year since his first mission, Mobius one took part in the final push into the Erusean capital of Farbanti. Although Erusea had pulled out all the remaining stops, they were no match for Mobius One, who allowed ISAF to capture the Enemy headquarters. Some Officers of the Erusian military tried to flee but their aircraft were shot down. It was at this point that Yellow 13 and his best pilots appeared on the scene. Mobius One broke off and engaged them himself. Although they put up a fight, all of the yellows were defeated. The remaining Erusians signed a peace treaty and surrendered that very day. The war was officially over.
However, a group of young Erusian officers refused to surrender and activated Megalith, Erusea's final trump card. Mobius One lead the attack on the facility. Yellow Squadron members who had not joined 13 when he attacked Farbanti tried to defend the facility, but they were trainees and therefore easily destroyed. Mobius One was able to fly inside the Megalith and destroy it, ending the Continental War once and for all. Mobius One had become the hero of the ISAF forces.
About a year after the end of the Continental War, a group of die-hard Erusian officers began calling themselves "Free Erusea", and staged large insurrection based around the White Valley Bay. Realizing that Mobius One had the efficiency of an entire squadron, ISAF sent in Mobius One to stop "Free Erusea". Mobius One was able to destroy the group, finally bringing peace to Usea.
His whereabouts after that are unknown, but he will always be remembered as one of the greatest aces of all time.
