OSEAN COASTAL DEFENSE FORCES
AC5 -Protecting the Osean Coast-

Background:
The Osean Coastal Defense Force (OCDF) is a branch of the Osean Defense Forces. The Osean Coastal Defense Force, as its name states, is in charge of defending the Osean coast from air, land, or sea attack.

The OCDF most notably operates a series of Surface to Air (SAM) batteries along the Osean Coast. These batteries wounded a SR-71 Blackbird spy plane that penetrated the Osean Air Defense Engagement Zone (ADEZ) of Cape Landers on September 24, 2010. The Osean Air Defense Force (OADF) 108th Tactical Fighter Squadron "Wardog" intercepted the plane.

In addition, OCDF SAMs wounded a C-5 Galaxy transport plane that was not emitting a friendly IFF signal, which was actually carrying the Osean President, Vincent Harling, to North Point for a peace conference.

Eh...

When in-game is the name or service in general of the OCDF specified? Plus, in the real world ADIZs are enforced by the ANG, not the USCG, and fixed defenses like old Nike SAMs were USAF.

Agreed... There is no seperate Defence force for coastal defences. I actually live by an old Nike SAM site.

Jeez, you think I'm gonna acutally make something fake? Dude, watch the briefing for Shorebirds (Mission 1) in AC5. "Osean Coastal Defense Force SAMs". The entire name is capitalized, making it a person, place, or thing. IE: It's a service of the Osean Defense Forces. Dude, just becuase it's not like that in /OUR/ military, that doesn't mean Namco is gonna follow our military's example... <.<

Before bashing something, just say: "Where is it?", instead of "THIS HAS GOTTA BE FAKE BECAUSE OUR MILITARY ISN'T LIKE THIS."

Hm, I hadn't recalled that; I guess it is canon, then.

I sounded like an idiot... my apologies. However, seriously, just watch the briefing to the first mission.

IMO,

Just because there is a one line comment in the game doesn't mean we have to create an entire article about it.

So... even if the Belkan Army was only mentioned in one line in the game, there wouldn't be an article about it? Also, isn't this an Ace Combat Database? Aren't we here to give the AC community as much of a full look into the Ace Combat Universe that we can? We have articles on the OADF, OSDF, and OMDF, so, why not the OCDF? Is it not a service of the Osean Defense Forces?

Yes, yes, you're right. We are always trying to get more and more AC-related info and such things. With note, as long as we have accurate and factual (as in-game) infos.

It's about as accurate and factual as I can make it... it is found in game, and, the ingame data says that they operate a line of SAMs on the Osean Coast.

*offtopic* Vermillion, how come I haven't seen you on RSQ lately? *offtopic*

Hello.

I don't think just because it is capitalized, it should be interperated as it's own uniformed service. It is probably meant to be part of the Osean Army or Air Force. But, if you want to leave it as it's own thread, that's fine.

It's a service... it's capitalized in the breifing...

People, look at the source before you go assuming things. Why? It makes an ass out of you and me, see?

I hadn't thought of that. I kind of like that idea- a Coast Guard with SAMs...

Updated the format and added the links to the AC5 sites in the source section.

If making corrections to the article, DO NOT Change the format.
