EDIT: I love how come did all the hardpoints were lacking of R-77s on it
most video games use what is called level of detail which means objects far away have less detail then ones close up. ace combat has at least five levels of detail for ps2 era games
Hanger model around 4000 polygons
ingame models about 2-3000 for the plane and 2500 for the cockpit
wingmen detail about 1500 polygons used for wingmen and ingame video of bosses (especial in ACZ), the canopy is still transparent but the detail is less, often a plane will use hard points but weapons are often not rendered to save some polygons, but their are exceptions especially wingmen who you start the mission next to and have a good look at. acx uses these models for gameplay, this level is not used in Ace Combat 04
NPC detail 4-600 polygons, basicly re textured ace combat 2 modes, these have been used as recently as ace combat 6 and might even be in ACAH, they are in ACCR
blip detail, uses a handful of polygons for objects rendered far away, really only vaguely looks like a aircraft let alone anything specifically but the objects are to far to make out anyway, some npcs have a some LOD between these two but not most
