AURELIAN NAVY


Aurelian ships supporting the assault on Archelon Fortress (AA/12/2020)

Background:
The Aurelian Navy is the primary sea force for the Aurelian military. In a strange twist of fate, the Air Force and Army were cut down to a single unit, however, the Aurelian Navy still kept a force of three fleets.

History:
During the Leasath-Aurelian War of 2020, the Aurelian Navy participated in three recorded operations. One of these operations can happen differently.

Terminus Island: Operation A:
At Terminus Island, the Aurelian Navy attempted to destroy the Gliepnir, however failed as the Gliepnir destroyed the Third Fleet with its new shock cannon. The Gryphus Squadron managed to stop the Gleipnir's attacks before it could damage the remaining fleets.

Terminus Island: Operation B:
At Terminus Island, the Aurelian Navy moved in to extract a Leasath scientist. They succeeded, however, the submarine Naiad tasked with the recovery was hit by an underwater mine, but managed to escape with the help of the 207th Tactical Fighter Squadron.

Cobalt Cave
The Aurelian Navy dispatches an amphibious unit to infiltrate the compound, where they apprehend a Leasath scientist who later proves useful by handing out information of the Fenrir's optical camouflage and how to disable it.

Archelon Fortress
The same amphibious unit that fought in Cobalt Cave was dispatched to support Aurelia's assault on Archelon Fortress. Despite facing heavy resistance from the remains of the Leasath Navy, they manage to punch trough and reach land, where they open the electric power transmitter's gate, which allows Gryphus One to destroy it and terminate Fenrir's optical camouflage.
They then proceed to the fortress' main complex, where they had to withdraw when it was close to exploding.
