OVERVIEW:
Coastal artillery batteries are fixed defensive structures commonly located along shores and beachheads. They were common forms of defense during the second world war; one famous example was the German "Atlantic Wall" built along the western coast of Europe. In the Ace Combat games, large artillery guns are seen in two separate amphibious invasion missions, used by the opposing forces.

@ JDX & RoddH: The Pillboxes in AC5's White Bird Part 1 were only armed with machine guns; so technically speaking, Osea doesn't belong here.
