Battle Information:
The Indigo Squadron works well together as a team. They are capable of firing XMAAs during combat from their highly maneuverable JAS-39C Gripen fighters.
Background:
The Indigo Squadron is one of the most prideful Squadrons within the Belkan Air Force. Their elegant flight style earned them the names of the"The Indigo Order of Belka" and the "Indigo Knights".
Though only the flight leader of the Squadron had seen battle during Belka's period of expansionism, the entire Squadron was soon assigned to the Eastern Front during the beginning of the Belkan War. It was here that the Indigo saw much success. For example, on March 27th 1995 the 51st Tactical Fighter Squadron engaged an enemy fighter squadron, believed to be the the 3rd Air Division 122nd Tactical Fighter Squadron of the Fato Air Force over the Fato-Gebet Border. This engagement occurred during an operation aimed at capturing Model, a Gebetan city, and destroyed much of the defending force within five minutes. Flight leader Dimitri Heinrich alone shot down nine interceptor aircraft.
Within days, Gebet and Fato were brought under Belkan control, owing to the intense speed of the Belkan attacks. During these attacks the Indigo Squadron racked up kill after kill with little opposition.
On April 20th of that year, the Indigo Squadron was redirected over Area B7R on their way back to base. Though not unfamiliar with the area and only having been tasked with shooting down two Ustian mercenary aircraft, the Indigo Squadron was shot down over the Round Table. It was later confirmed that the fighters were of the Galm Team of the Ustian 6th Air Division, 66th Air Force Unit.
