AGM-86C Conventional Air-Launched Cruise Missile
- Autonomous ASM -

ORIGIN (Real World):
United States of America

GAMES FEATURED IN:
Ace Combat 04: Shattered Skies
Ace Combat 5: The Unsung War
Ace Combat Zero: The Belkan War

OPERATORS:
Federal Erusian Air Force
Ustian Air Force
Yuktobanian Air Force

OVERVIEW:
The AGM-86C is a Conventional Air-Launched Cruise Missile (CALCM) and is a conventional derivative of the Nuclear armed AGM-86B. The CALCM became operational in January 1991 at the onset of Operation Desert Storm (1991). It is powered by a Williams F107 turbofan jet engine that propels it at sustained subsonic speeds and can be launched from both high and low altitudes. After launch, the missiles folded wings, tail surfaces, and engine inlet deploy. The conventionally armed "C" model uses an on-board GPS system coupled with its inertial navigation system (INS) to fly. This allows the missile to guide itself to the target with pinpoint accuracy.

* Ribbon-Blue: Seriously? tongue.gif AC04, 5, and Zero.

* JDX: No, the Rafale uses the SCALP-EG (aka the Storm Shadow), the AGM-86 is used by heavy bombers such as the B-2 in AC5.

I know about it in AC4 (Breaking Arrows MAYBE from the XB-70) and AC5 (White Bird I from the B-2s) but where did it appear in AC0?...Don't tell me it was what the ADFX-01's MPBMs were. dry.gif

It appeared in mission 11 "The Inferno". It's the blue dot on the map that flys in and hits a section of the city. Specifically, it's when Pixy says "A Tomahawk just hit the city, are they serious?" Although, technically, it's not a Tomahawk, its an AGM-86C.

Ribbon-Blue: laugh.gif Sorry, I thought you didn't know that.

I think it's more likely that it's an Osean missile than an Ustian one.
Aggressiveness was a fundamental to success in air-to-air combat and if you ever caught a fighter pilot in a defensive mood you had him licked before you started shooting.

— Captain David McCampbell, USN, leading U.S. Navy ace in W.W.II.

All of the allied units in that mission are Ustian. While it's possible that the cruise missile may have been launched by the OADF, I still have reason to believe that the missile was in fact, fired by the Ustian airforce.

nop, if you see the briefing, Is a Join Operation with Ustian and Osean Forces...

JDX, the B-52s have Ustian airforce roundels on their wings, and I have strong reason to believe that the M1 tanks are also Ustian. You're probably thinking of mission 5 (Flicker of Hope) that has a joint Osean-Ustio operation.

Ah, I remember that. I thought it was pretty cool actually watching the "Tomahawk" hit the city, even though it didn't explode specially or anything, it just exploded like a normal missile.

I'm not taking about the B-52s... I was taking about the two F-5 Tiggers... They are from Osea in the briefing.

btw, This missile is the same in the mission 12C on ACX?

The F-5s appear only in mission 01, all allied units in that operation were mercenaries working for the Ustian airforce. What I'm trying to say is that all the units in mission 11 are Ustian, including the cruise missile that appears.

I saw it, appear like a ground allied, i mean, is a point, not a triangle.
But move so fast for be a tank. Also, if you follow it, then it hit one target

Likely, considering that most of the NPC vehicles (and in this case the cruise missile) were recycled from AC5.

From what I remember (I ditched my 360 for a PS3), the Stauros-released projectiles were more like bomber-sized normal missiles, different in appearance from the AGM-86. Long story short, I'm not sure. Can someone get a screenshot?
