OVERVIEW:
The R-311 Remora was developed as the answer to the General Resource Ltd. RF-12A2 Blackbird II. It was designed for the sole purpose of escorting the R-531 Mobura Transports. The R-311 was extremely light, making it capable of being transported by the R-531s. When the Moburas came under fire, they dispatched their R-311 Remoras as they continued to their target. The R-311s sacrificed maneuverability for speed, in order to stay aloft in the Stratosphere.

The R-311 saw limited action in 2040, but was proven to lessen the number of R-531 Transports shot down. NEU Ace Cynthia Fitzgerald had her own custom version, known as the R-311-C, but she did not operate it regularly.

Yeah, its true... i saw that detail, but i dont design the craft, only i draw it.
this is one of the most stranger crafts, because dont have intake.... posibily its like a rocket or maybe, their fuel is nanobytes

Rocket is the most probable propulsion system, since it operates in high altitudes and carried by Mobura, which means, it can't cruise.

And the R-311 itself looks like a rocket and is as small as one so its bodywork is proably completely based around a rocket.

I guess Namco just used jet sounds and textures to save space then....or were just trying to be funny.....who knows.....

It would make sense if it were rocket powered, excepting the fact that the fuel tanks would be quite large.....

Its 2045 though. It must be a rocket. The Mobura has no intakes so that must be powered by rockets aswell and that has got to last more than 10 minutes

Maybe, although the Remora isn't a suicide plane, and the airframe is completely different.

I mean the concept of a small, rocket powered attack craft carried by some bomber..

Nazi Germany did design that sort of plane, I believe. I think it was called a Parasite or something similar. I lost my copy of "My Tank Is Fight."

Heinkel on Turbofans: Yes, nobody will notice tin foil turbofans in planes.

Really late to the party. But I found a video (and Let's play) of a Remora in flight and dogfighting.

Thanks :) I just posted that to hopefully give some good pictures of it. Mostly of the underside before it separates and other things.
