Mission 06: Invincible Fleet
AC4 - Campaign Walkthrough

<insert map here>

Mission Outline:
Destroy the Aegir Fleet while they’re stuck in Comberth Harbor.

Enemies:
Air: 11
Ground: 40
Naval: 36
Targets: 0

Recommended Aircraft and Special Weapon
Mirage 2000 with LASM

Mission Walkthrough
This mission is timed like the last mission was. This is also one of the longest missions in the game, so don’t be to much of a daredevil during the mission. If you get shot down you will have to do the whole mission again. Be sure to select the Mirage 2000 with LASMs to start the level.

Right when the mission starts, hit the first portion of the fleet sitting outside of Comberth Harbor. Use your LASMs to destroy the ships outside of their self defense range. Each ship takes one LASM to destroy it, so you should have four LASMs left. Ignoring the fighters in the area, move to the western side of the harbor and begin to destroy all ships, their AA guns and SAMs a any cranes you see. As you do this, many aircraft will enter the area, but just stay below 4000ft and destroy all the ground targets. Make sure you use the last of your LASMs on the docked ships. Once all of the ships and other ground targets are destroyed in the western area of the map, return to base and refit with UGBS.

When you return, ignore the enemy fighters near the return line and rush to the eastern side of Comberth Harbor. Along the way you’ll pass four cranes. Destroy those cranes and continue to the eastern side of the harbor. When you’re very close to your targets area, you’ll find some Cruisers and Destroyers outside of the Submarine Pen. Some of these ships are protected by large armored walls, but dropping a bomb will destroy them, despite the armored walls. From there, move onto the Submarine Pen. Destroy the two SAM sites in the area first, then use your UGBS to bomb the submarines in their hardened shelters. Destroying the submarines, the single Destroyer with them and all of the fuel tanks in the area should have you at an A-Rank.

To ensure that you get an S-Rank, go to the northern area of the harbor. Be sure to destroy the two missile boats at the opening to the northern area of the harbor and target the warships in the area, first. From there, wipe out the fuel tanks, anchored ships, containers and cranes. This will put you well over the limit for an S-rank. From here, use any remaining time to dogfight the Erusians until time is over. Make sure not to do anything to crazy, because you can still die and will have to start over.

Unlocked Aircraft and Weaponry
F-14A Tomcat with UGBM
TND-IDS Tornado IDS with LASM and PGB
F/A-18C Hornet with LASM and XMAA

Grey's Two Cents:

If you're a real cowboy, you can actually fly through the sub pens. Do it nao.

It's not too bad. You know those two-ended bunkers on Cruik Fortress on the surface of the fortress? Yeah, that's even tighter - and it's twice as bad-ass. biggrin.gif
