Mission 9B
A Diversion

Operation Briefing
In order to ensure our bid to capture the capitol is a success, we need to first take back Sachana Air Base. Sachana Air Base is our country's largest air base.

The enemy incurred heavy losses during the previous battle at Kalana Steppes, resulting in a near complete loss of air power in this area. However, enemy ground troops have already begun to form a formidable intercept force in their stead. The surrounding woods would put our ground troops at a distinct disadvantage, so a helicopter unit will be used to carry them in. Your mission, sir, will be to protect the helicopter unit until they can safely land at the target.

Intelligence reports that enemy troops trained in guerilla warfare and familiar with the terrain are holding this point. Infrared sensors have been attached to the HUD to help locate enemies hiding in the forest. The heat signature from enemy's weapon will appear on the HUD whenever they fire. Use this chance to lock on to the target. Draw enemy fire and take out as many enemy positions as possible to ensure the safety of the helicopter unit.

Combat List

Allied
- CH-47 (05)

Air
- AH-64 (02)
- X-29A (03)

Ground
- RPG (24)
- SAM (08)
- AA Gun (02)

Special
- F/A-18E 'Storm'
- B-52 ' * '

Operation Debriefing
The helicopter unit has brought Sachana Air Base under their control. The mission is a success. Air power from the base will be a vital asset, especially in the battle to retake Griswall. I have the feeling the day of our capitol's liberation is not far off.

Could you add the list of Allieds?
Example:

F-22 Aquila Squad (4)
AH-64 (25)
etc, etc

The same for the rest of articles ^^b

btw. Lack a lot of info in the Mission 01 and 02. Could you post the briefing, debriefing, allied list and enemy list. Then i'll add the article. Thanks a lot.

PS. I updated the format with minor details. Now just apply to the rest of your articles (if you'll make more biggrin.gif)

Well, no one else has done that for the previous missions. Besides, I have the articles all done the way that helps most, and Allied units do not show their name in missions. But the articles for 01 & 02, yeah, I could do that.

Yeah, it is possible to count. But most allied ground forces are difficult to identify. Therefore, I won't add a list of allied units.

No problem. The crafts, rotorcrafts and Support crafts is most important. And for the ground forces, is not necesary identify all (M1A1, Leopard, ADATS, etc), is only necesary the number.... example:

F-22 Aquila (x2)
F-16 Falco (x3)
Ground Vehicles (x12)

You see, is not necesary identify the allied vehicles...

Also, for the naval vessels, only if you want identify, i mean, if is dificult to you identify the vessels, only add the number too... example:

F-22 Aquila (x2)
F-16 Falco (x3)
Ground Vehicles (x12)
Aircraft Carriers (x2)
Naval Vessels (x15)

Anything more, I think the Aircraft Carriers is easy to identify biggrin.gif
Well man, Hope you can do it wink.gif

Get an aircraft that you will find suitable for this mission that has the beautiful talents you wish for. laugh.gif
Respectively, I've always chosen the XFA-27 for this mission. The XFA-27 carries SOD units, so use those best as they have long range and destructive capabilites, plus retofitted with the Scarface MBS is very useful. Keep in mind that you should not wander off, because the RPG units are dispersed close to each other. Once you see them a thousand meters off, hit it and destroy them once the allied Helis are close by. If you don't however distract them like said title, or face the consequences. Also, once completed the first part, head over to the airbase; destroy the SAMs, AA, Fighters, and enemy Helis. Those pose a threat as the Helis are their target. Oh by the way, if you see the enemy ace and haven't gotten him yet then get a fast aircraft and blow him to wonders. Keep in mind you, have to do that FAST. OR else 1-2 Heli units are gone.
Hope this helps.

I've actually found a point where the ace is relatively close to your position. Also, try playing the mission once to see which RPGs fire at the choppers. Most of them fire at you (or at least try because they're so easy to avoid, even on Ace), but some fire at the choppers. Find out which ones, and destroy those first.
