Geography
The geography of this area is a large, flat valley floor surrounded by the Waldreich Mountain Range. There is evidence of glaciation in this area, the very mound that Stier Castle stands is an old and short drumlin; a hill that has been stretched out by glaciation. The large lake in front of the castle was probably made by the same glacier that reshaped this region. It is called Lake Edelwasser. Steir Castle itself overlooks the seven ground zero nuclear explosions set off by Belka, on June 6th, 1995.
Background
Stier Castle, which is near the Waldreich Mountains was once the largest castle in Belka during their Dark Ages, well before they modernized. Belkan Knights are believed to have lived in or passed through Stier Castle at one point in time. It is also believed that the popular Belkan Story "A Blue Dove for The Princess" is set in Stier Castle, in the surrounding area and in an area of the Waldreich Mountains. In modern day Belka, Stier Castle is no more than a monument to Belka and most likely a Tourist Attraction.
The Belkan War (Op.Ravage))
Allied Forces prepared to push into North Belka on June 6th, 1995. One of the primary targets was to be the industrial city of Sudentor, where a unit of well armed Belkan Troops had setup a third defensive position. As Allied Forces began to near the Waldreich Mountains, multiple Belkan Air Force BM-335 bombers lifted off to attack targets in Ustio, most likely Osea and other Allied Forces in South Belka, with Nuclear Weaponry. Though the formation of BM-335s was intercepted and shot down, seven Nuclear Weapons were detonated along the Waldreich Mountains. The Belkan Government proclaimed Northern Belka as the "holy land" of Belka and said that they would not permit the Allied Forces to enter North Belka. This attack halted the Allied Forces' advance, eventually lead to the Peace Accord signing in Lumen and the end of the war.
The Belkan War (Op.Valkyrie))
On December 30th, Lumen and Valais Air Base were suddenly attacked by "A World With No Boundaries" with the XB-0 Hresvelgr. The XB-0 attempted to return to Belka after its attacks, but was intercepted by the Galm Team near Steir Castle. The XB-0 and many of its escorts were shot down to the far north of Steir Castle, near the Waldreich Mountains, before the XB-0 could retreat to safety.
Circum Pacific War (Op.Keynote)
During the Circum-Pacific War in 2010, Osean President Harling was imprisoned in the Stier Castle. On December 9th, 2010, the Razgriz and the helicopter squadron Sea Goblin, launched a rescue operation for President Harling. As the Razgriz held off opposing Belkan forces, an infiltration team dropped into Stier Castle and rescued President Harling. Initally, there was little resistance aside from Belkan Personnel witin Steir, but soon Belkan Armored Forces began to near the castle. Belkan aircraft also, unexpectedly, appeared in the area and attempted to target Sea Goblin. The Razgriz managed to fend off the Belkan Forces and by destroying one of the walls, allowed the infiltration team to escape. The Osean President was recovered in good health.
