Ragno Fortress

Geography:
Built on an Arid Mesa overlooking a canyon and Hydroelectric dam, Ragno Fortress is a massive fortification constructed by the Emmerian Military, located on the Grageo Canyon. It is comprised of a large octagonal aboveground area, tunnels, and a dam that provides the immense electrical power that the Ragno requires. It has superior anti-aircraft defenses, and is considered by many to be impenetrable.

The EE War - Battle of Ragno Fortress:
Soon after the beginning of the EE War the Estovakian Military quickly captured Ragno Fortress from the Emmerian Military. By 2016, during the Emmerian counterattack, Emmerian ground forces attacked the captured Fortress. The Emmerian ground forces were spearheaded by the Warlock Separate Battalion. Air support was provided by the Yellow Jacket helicopter unit and the Garuda, Avalanche and Windhover fighter squadrons. These air squadrons supported the main assault by destroying enemy ground units and emplacements.

Controlling the area around and over Ragno was difficult, due to the presence of Estovakian AA guns and Artillery. These units were constantly being transported to the surface via multiple underground lifts. Garuda entered the underground area, destroying the lifts, making the capture of Ragno Fortress much easier. Estovakian Forces were weakened when power facilities and supply routes were severed by air attacks and the Emmerian Ground Force directly engaged the Fortress. Amidst the chaos of the final assualt on Ragno, Emmerian Special Operations teams took control of the fortress from the inside and secured all inner areas of the fortress.
