San Salvacion
- the Capital City of San Salvacion -

Flag of San Salvacion.

Geography:
The capital city of San Salvacion shares its name with its country. The city of San Salvacion has seen much conflict since it was first founded. The city itself is split into three parts. To the west lies the main area, known as New City. The area to the east is known as Old Town. San Profetta Airport lies to the north. Low, rolling hills surround the city of San Salvacion. Near the Broadcast Station in New City is a large lake, across from which is another part of New City.

Usean Tensions:
Before 1994, the country of San Salvacion was the only neutral nation on the Usean Continent. This earned the nation a reputation as the Usean Symbol of Peace. With the discovery of the Ulysses XF041994, it was decided that the weapon used to destroy the Ulysses would be built in San Salvacion because of the country's neutral status. In 2003, with tensions between the FCU and Erusea nearing their peak, the Erusian military suddenly stormed the nation of San Salvacion, capturing the Stonehenge Turret Network (STN) within its borders. With threats of action and a deadline set by the FCU for Erusea's military withdrawal, the FCU, along with its allied nations, formed the Independent State Allied Forces (ISAF) to promote stability, defense and peace across the Usean Continent. Soon after the ISAF Formation, the Usean Continental War began.

In San Salvacion, civilians were rationed gasoline and stripped of technology that would continue to connect them to the ISAF. This included modern radios, Internet access, and other amenities. The Erusian military used the capital city of San Salvacion as the front line airbase of the Yellow Squadron, tasked with protecting the STN. They also used the city as a makeshift resource transport area. During the Erusian occupation, certain citizens of San Salvacion formed a resistance group and relayed information to the ISAF. Their headquarters was a small bar and restaurant known as the "Sky Kid", which, interestingly enough, was also the hangout of Erusian ace pilot Yellow 13. The resistance often used the Sky Kid's Erusian Air Force clientèle to gather useful information for the ISAF.

In 2005, with the ISAF drawing closer to the city, resistance forces attempted to destroy the runway used by the Yellow Squadron. Despite aircraft damages and the injury of a pilot, the Yellow Squadron attempted to support Erusian Forces at Stonehenge, during the ISAF Stonehenge Offensive. With the loss of Stonehenge, San Salvacion would soon be liberated by the ISAF.

Operation Fire Fly:
The ISAF planned to retake San Salvacion at 0000hrs on July 10th of 2005. Before the attack, the resistance forces set bomb detonators throughout the city. When the attack began, the ISAF forces along with Resistance within the city commenced Operation Black Out and began to push all of the Erusian forces out of the city. The Yellow Squadron patrolled each area of the city attempting to intercept the ISAF aircraft. Eventually, the Erusian occupiers were on the verge of being run out of the city. As Erusian forces began to pull out, a number of Tu-160 Blackjacks prepared an air strike, aimed at destroying the entire city. All of the hostile Tu-160s were shot down before heavy damage was inflicted. San Salvacion was finally liberated by the early morning hours of July 10th, 2005.

Has anyone noticed on the main thouroughfare in Old Towne that the two arches on either end resemble the Arc de Triomphe, and they appear to have Erusean flags draped over them? You could think of it as the Brandenburg gate too. I thought I'd note the similarity to the Parisian liberation.
