'New Submarine Construction'
On September 2nd, the supreme convention was held in Cinigrad, where Prime Minister Samanov declared to the world that the construction of a new submarine, collaboratively designed by the National Munitions Factory and the Yuktobanian Navy, was successfully completed. The Prime Minister emphasized that the present Administration's military modernization programs were proceeding quite smoothly and also encouraged party officials and comrades to brace themselves even more to support Yuktobania's allied countries.

The photograph of the new submarine reveals many aspects. Unlike existing SSNs, the new submarine is expected to be 'a strategic missile platform.' It was developed as part of the countermeasures against nuclear strategies such as SDI, which was put forward by Osea in the 80's. Its battle capability was based on Admiral Leonov's 'Arsenal Ship Project.' This project was to establish a single attack system capable of various attack options. By assembling hundreds of tactical and strategic missiles, regardless of their ranges and purposes, together into a single submarine, it is expected to become a hidden, movable offensive asset. Launch control of the missiles is conducted by escort ships or via satellites. This submarine will be the heart of the new system which has various patterns of attack. Its hull, as is shown in the photograph, is made of high stealth components, which makes it difficult for the enemy to locate the point of missile launch. This helps SLBM avoid getting intercepted in the boost phase during which it is most vulnerable. It also holds its own when it comes to close range combat. It is equipped with a new type of missiles whose warheads can attack multiple targets or a wide surface area at once. It is also loaded with VTOL aircraft to deal with aerial threats. With these innovations incorporated, it is a very ambitious submarine.

The site of its construction was not specified for national defense reasons, but it seemed to be a city near Okchabursk. They seem to have already launched a full production plan of a next submarine of the same type in the same city. This second submarine will enter service with a more low-cost deployment system. In addition, it is expected to possess a capability of launching UCAV (Uninhabited Combat Air Vehicle) from under the water, too. its cruising range is also expected to be longer due to advanced propulsive force. This gigantic ship, over 300 meters long, will have the surreptitiousness of a submarine, the mobility of an aircraft carrier, and more firepower than a cruiser. It will perform an important role in the future military reformation as a 'Warship of a New Era.'

Our Yuktobanian military successfully conducted a test launch of a newly developed warhead, an improved version of ICBM, and our Air Force has finished the selection of new generation tactical fighter aircraft as well. Our military power is on the rise. Amidst the expansion of our armaments, Prime Minister Samanov strongly appealed to the world, saying that "I'm concerned about secessionist movements arising in and around the Belkan Federation. The movements are heavily influenced and even believed to be enhanced by Osea. If things keep going on as they are, the country of Belka will be torn apart. That will give birth to new, yet another unnecessary conflict and territory reformation. We must brace ourselves to do what is right in any way we can. We must prevent anything from breaking out that can trigger conflict in that region."



'Anti-Government and anti-Osea Campaigns All Over Belka'
The acounting fraud news was recently leaked to the media. The Five Greak Lakes Resources and Development Corporation invested by both Osea and Belka had been making up deceptive financial reports for a long time. The news was quickly spread, and protest demonstrations occurred throughout the country of Belka, which have been continuing for two weeks. The demonstrations still keep raging, and even large scale riots are taking place here and there. The National Assembly is being encircled by fourty thousands of citizens, most of who are supporters of 'Fatherland and Workers Party', the largest opposition party in Belka. The demonstrations and riots are engulfing all quarters of the country of Belka, and are showing no sign of subsidence.

The profitability of the Five Greak Lakes Resources and Development Corporation was calculated according to the resources assessment data, which is now widely believed to have been dressed up by the Osean Federation. In response, people of Belka are starting to feel a fierce antipathy against Osea once again. Furthermore, those demonstrations and riots are also starting to shift to the Belkan Government's weak attitude toward the neighboring countries that have recently seceded from the Belkan Federation, and they are going so far as to demand that the Cabinet be removed from office immediately.

For many years the northern and southern regions of the Five Great Lakes were a no-man's-land between Osea and Belka. The tensions that arose regarding this territory were swept away when Belka agreed to cede the area to Osea. Belka agreed to the transfer because the dividend rate of the Five Great Lakes Resources and Development Corporation was more favorable to Belka than to Osea. But now the accounting fraud has come to light along with the errors in the data about the resources in the territory, and the Fatherland and Workers Party is mincing no words in denouncing these misrepresentations as just more treacherous ploys intended to advance Osea's expansionist agenda. When asked about this the Belkan Government Press Secretary Von Nordenstadt said only that "the details are being investigated." He refused further comment. The Belkan government is thus standing by its pro-Osean policy in an attempt to calm the economic turmoil which has been so divisive in the Belkan Federation. If the Belkan Government is overthrown there is no way the Fatherland and Workers Party would fail to take power and control. They would then certainly reverse the policy, and this in turn would undoubtedly lead to the collapse of the Osean and Belkan friendship that has existed since 1988 when the Belkan federal law was reviewed.

This chaotic situation was caused by the Belkan Federation, who is devoid of long term vision and management capabilities for a national crisis, and the Osean Federation, who is an expansionist as well as a shemist. Both of them are playing around like children, and have abandoned the responsibility for maintaining international peace and security. It is Osean and Belkan people who will eventually pay the price. We Yuktobanians should not regard this as a matter of no concern, and must willingly take the lead to settle things down as a world superpower. Diligence of our nations and sacrifice of our soldiers are there to fulfill this responsibility.


'Osea's Reaction'
In response to the supreme convention that was broadcast on 2nd, the Osean Foreign Minister Howards attended a news broadcast on the same day. Regarding the news of the Yuktobanian new submarine, he commented that "this is a perfect example of how a ballyhoo fizzles out, and there is no point in evaluating it." He also pointed out that the new sub was a counterfeit version of the Dragonet Class Submarine that belongs to FCU. He went so far as to conclude by absurdly saying that "Yuktobania is making efforts, but it's just another step for them to exploit former Belkan interests. This is exactly what you call the audacity of a thief."

'Organizing Youth Corps. Recruiting Young Talents'
The military public relations department has announced that a wide range of people, especially a young generation, are recruited from inside and outside the military for the purpose of introduction and elaboration of high and up-to-date technology. The Yuktobanian Government will preprare extra public servant posts for this. Those who get a new post will be assigned to introducing next generation electronic calculation methods and building massive communication networks. The "Young Corps" with scientific knowledge and insight who will be the top executives of the military in the future. To quote one of the military recruiters, "To contribute to peace of the world under a pressing circumstance like today, we need to establish a new organization. What we want to do is unite patriotism with technology so as to lead our contry and comrades. This is the era when experts are more needed than ever to defeat the enemy and protect the country. I'd dearly like the young generaion to use their power and intelligence to do the right thing."
