Overview:
The Kitty Hawk-class super carriers are a class of 3 varieties of oil burning ships, the CV-63, -64, and -66. The heavily modified CV-67 became its own class, known as the John F. Kennedy class. The successor to the Forrestal-class carriers, the Kitty Hawk and John F. Kennedy-class are a significant step forward.

The Kitty Hawk is the lead ship of the class. The biggest differences from the Forrestal class are greater length, and a different placement of elevators; two are forward of the island, with a third at the port side stern. The movement of the #4 elevator from the forward to the after end of the angle made it useful for aircraft movement, since the forward-end elevator was useless as it was in both the landing path and in the launch path of the #3 and #4 catapults. Each ship in this class was built in a different shipyard.

Kitty Hawk and Constellation were later updated in an SLEP program; but America was scheduled for a few years later than her sisters, at a time of budget cuts, and was decommissioned in 1996. America was in very poor condition when she was decommissioned, and therefore despite her historical significance was not held as a donation asset. She was expended as a live-fire target and sunk on May 14, 2005. With the decommissioning of the Constellation, the Kitty Hawk was the first and only ship left in the class. She is currently based in Yokosuka Naval Base in Japan.

The Nimitz is much larger and the Superstructures for each ship are visibly different. Another thing is the stack behind the superstructure indicates the ship is not nuclear powered.

Also, the ISAF CV-04 Fort Grace that you rearm on is mentioned in the official AC04 site, though it is never named in-game.

If I can get my act together I hope if possible to get my fanfic on the Fort Grace class carriers of the ISAF Navy reworked. Once I do this I could some help having someone proof read my fanfic and give me somep ointers or help modify it. The last one I did came out fairly decent in my opinion, but looking it over it can use some fine tuning. Though there may not be any evidence of any additional carriers besides the Fort Grace I like the believe there were others in use.

Actually only about 6 meters bigger and the aircraft limit is exactly the same. The physique and the fact that the Nimitz is nuclear and the Kitty Hawk is oil powereed are the only BIG differences.

Their displacement is quite different as well

The Kitty hawk's displacement is 80,800 tons whereas the Nimitz's displacement is 97,000. That's a sizable difference in size.

True. I was just comparing the size (length notably) and appearance really. They're both 'super' carriers with very large size and lots of plane capacity either way.
