I wonder why the Belkans didn't use a more advanced Type 209 that has existed 24 years before the war, and instead, using an outdated U-Boat Type VII.

They should have used a Whiskey Class Submarine, or a Romeo class instead.

Type 209 actually made more sense, as it was made in West Germany. Romeo and Whiskey are both Soviet-made, and Soviet and West German are not friendly towards each other (And so Belkans and Yuktobanians)
