The fact is that most Ace Combat players want fun, not realism. Now, if you make missiles as effective as in real life, the game would become too easy with the current ammunition count. But wait! dropping the missile count also affects your ability in air-to-ground combat. This would make large scale air-to-ground missions somewhat annoying for many players, or even impossible for some. This means you've got to then reduce the number of ground targets at the same time. So air combat is now less interesting, and we can't have the high-impact ground combat we're used to, where the player singlehandedly wipes out massive armies. So, while implementing this might seem nice to a hardcore simmer, it'll alienate at least half the player base. And it can't be remedied by the difficulty settings, either, since hardcore simmers won't enjoy tanking 10 missile hits on "easy", while it would seem paradoxical if, by virtue of the ease of air-air kills, hard mode actually became easier.

Realism has its place in games where it's a priority, like LOMAC or a whole slew of games from the late 90's, such as the classic "Falcon" series.

I still want missiles that track better then the AIM-9B and travel faster then a slightly perturbed turtle.

Indeed. I doubt it will though. Doesn't mesh well with the rest of the soundtrack.

They're taking to CoD route with that crappy rap music if thats what I'm hearing. I'll wait until It gets on youtube so I can watch it at a better streaming quality. I do agree it sounds really messy.

I'm guessing they're also going to have a level up system too? get EXP and unlocks aircraft depending on your level... Clan tags would be cool too though I prefer custom roundels or emblems like in Armored Core series.
