I don't recall. I usually die by crashing into crap in AC1. After playing all the other ACs my greatest enemy in AC1 is the graphics.

I've yet to watch the trailers (busy with other stuff), but I am excited about this. Very excited! I've got a few 'iffy' feelings about what I'm reading here and there, but I'll hold back 'till I know more. I do know this for sure, though, ES is going to be getting a bit busier with an actual release to look forward to and with ACX2 coming out pretty soon.

So, I just saw the trailer ala YouTube. I saw something that saddened me deeply...

If I want to get all fancy with the camera, I'll hold the triangle button and just remember where I'm flying. I'd really rather not have some sort of spawn of 'Assistance Off' hogging up a camera slot.

So long as it stays Campaign mode only, I'll deal with it. But if I have to use that mode to turn sharply, like in HAWX, I'm probably going to be hosting a whole lotta rooms with Ye Olde Ace Combate rules.

I like Helicopters n' such, so I guess I could live with a few of the rail shooter/Attack Heli missions, but I'd be lying to say that it was a bit awkward seeing them in the trailer for the first time.

It's a bit hard for me to tell if that was actually in-game footage or not (though it seemed like it wasn't), so I'll just say that overall I'm pleased with what I saw, but am reasonably hesitant with certain aspects. Needs moar gameplay footage.

The combat between the Raptor and Flanker reminded me too much of AfterBurner and TopGun (the movie). Really excited for this game already!

The shaky cam was a bit much in those in-game shots though and the game engine's look is pretty much what AC6 looked like.

The HAWX influence is showing too.

And I'm mixed on the new "Ace Combat" logo design.

Hope it isn't too US-oriented though. Would definitely hate losing the Flanker in the plane list.

At least it's multiplatform. No faggy fanboy wars that AC6 ended up bringing when it was announced.

Even though I'm not too happy about it, I still want some more information and a flyable aircraft list.

To me, all that matters is that it's multiplatform, which means they've learned their lesson. Though the rail-shooter part....I'll be ignorant of it for now...wait for TGS to see what's the situation.

AJ has discovered that among the planes returning (F-22, Su-33, A-10A, and a playable AH-64A) 2 planes have caught my eye.

One, for the first time in almost 15 years, the Sukhoi Su-25 "Frogfoot" makes it's appearance. Last time we've seen the Frogfoot in an AC title was 2. So at least I'm a bit happy that one of my favorite attackers is back.

and then there is the Su-24MP "Fencer-F", an ELINT model of the Su-24 designed to replace the Yak-28PP "Brewer-E," therefore the Fencer in this game is a Jammer aircraft....which sucks.
