- AH-64D Image A - AH-64D Image B - AH-64D Image C -

Origin: (Real World)
United States of America

Games Featured In:
Ace Combat: Assault Horizon

Operators:
Task Force 108

Notable Units:
Shooter Squadron / Task Force 108

Armament:
1 x 30mm M230 'Chain Gun'
8-16 x AGM-114B Hellfire ATGMs
2-4 x Hydra 70mm FFAR Pods
2 x AIM-92 BLOCK II Stinger

Overview:
The AH-64D Apache Longbow is an advanced variant of the original AH-64A Apache. The Longbow has upgraded avionics and most notably a mushroom-shaped radar above the main rotor that houses a millimeter band fire control system. This allows radar guided AGM-114B Hellfire missiles to be fired behind cover, thus reducing the risk of hostile ground fire to the aircraft. It is currently performing operational duties with Coalition forces in Afghanistan and Iraq.

Gonna have to agree with ADV on this one, gameplay over graphics.

And

Some gameplay with AH-64D. Too bad that we don't get to see the 3rd Person View and Cockpit in this one. However, from what I can say, it's pretty interesting, alhough I'd prefer jets more. Also, how did the RPG at 0:25 trigger the "Missile Alert"?

From what Rukia and another buddy of mine[Who is in the United States Air Force] has said if an object is coming at you with incredible speed and a significant heat source it automatically activates the missile warning.

WTH!!! there are no rader guided hellfires except for the L's and they were scrapped during testing due to accuracy issues. all hellfires are laser guided. really need to change that info in the article there.
Proud owner of 4,291.6 hours of actual flight time.

Oh, I thought the MAW will only sound when there's a guided munition (Missile) closing in on your aircraft.

Northrop Grumman says there are:
Longbow Radar

As does Lockheed:
Longbow FCR and Longbow Hellfire

Not sure about the operational status, but the manufacturers are still bragging about 'em.

EDIT: But that would make the missiles the -L variant, of course.

The RPG would trigger the collision warning alert, not the missile alert warning.
