Advanced Hydrofoils

- General Resource LTD. Hydrofoil -

Ouroboros Hydrofoil

Neucom Inc. Hydrofoil - NEU Picture A - NEW Picture B

GAMES FEATURED IN:
Ace Combat 03: Electrosphere

OPERATORS:
General Resource Defense Force
Neucom Emergency Unit
Ouroboros

WEAPONS:
1 x AA-Gun

OVERVIEW:
The Hydrofoils are small Sea Skimming Vessels capable of reaching high speeds, and have a high turn radius. However, in order to get these attributes extremely light armor and armament must be equipped. These Hydrofoils became a vital part for each faction of the war of 2040 (Ace Combat 03).

Neucom Inc. deployed their Hydrofoils very little during the war. The only and largest, deployment of their Hydrofoils was when a General Resource OSL fell into the water near Megafloat. They scrambled the Hydrofoils to recover the satellite.

General Resource also deployed theirs on this same action. Their Hydrofoils accompanied the second General Resource Recovery Unit as they closed in on the downed OSL near Megafloat.

The Ouroboros only deployed one known Hydrofoil. It appeared after the UI-4052 Cralias when it attempted to crash into Smoke Stacks at Axel Bay, but crash landed in a near by water way. A hydrofoil attempted to escape, but was destroyed.

Wait a sec, 'one super AA-Gun' ? I pretty sure these things only had a regular AA gun.

The AA gun is weak, but it fires really fast and the 'foil spits bullets like crazy. I think that's what he means by 'super'.

Still, it's nothing real dangerous. (Unless you're heavily damaged tongue.gif )

Yeah, and fat chance you'll be heavily damaged on Fragile Cargo or Intercept. XD

The only time I've EVER had issues with any guns at all was in AC6, when planes actually shot at you. They aren't much of a threat.

Yeah, now the AC6 AA guns are actually dangerous (especially on expert and ace levels).

Whenever I see the 'Super AA Gun' fire, I wonder what that weapon really is... I'd like to think it's just a Vulcan Cannon or something, but, the spray is just so freakin' inaccurate. I sometimes wonder if it's just some guy standing on the deck with a minigun. laugh.gif

AHAHAHAHAHAHA

Sorry, just remembered those damned Chandelier six pack nitrobullet effing cannons conveniently positioned over the Stauros loading belt entrance on the latter difficulties. Unless I arrived at this point in the mission unscathed I literally have to dive vertically with the burners on behind the guns, pull a right angle High-G turn to level myself before I crash for a realistic chance at entering the chute without being reduced into a scrambling mess of burning shrapnel.

Even if I go for blowing them AA installations up first, I could almost swear I've seen them respawn. You can now forgive me for claiming the Chandelier being the cheesy version of AC4's Megalith. "Oh no, there's yet another backup cooling unit IN THE BARREL!" Really? laugh.gif

Okay, I'll stop the spam now...

Actually, the only advance hidrofoil with AA guns is the Ouroboros one

It must be tough in real life to actually see vessels of similar size to this thing when flying at appreciable altitude...I know we have avionics and radar, but it's still impressive that pilots can visually confirm targets of this type.
