HH-60G Pave Hawk
-Combat Search and Rescue-

ORIGIN: (Real World)
United States of America

GAMES FEATURED IN:
Diary: Confession of a Soldier (#5)

OPERATORS:

Belkan Air Force

WEAPONS:

2 7.62 mini guns
or
2 .50 machine guns

OVERVIEW:

A twin turboshaft engine helicopter, the HH-60G Pave Hawk's primary mission is combat search and rescue (CSAR) of downed pilots. It is capable of day and night operations in hostile environments. The Pave Hawk's versatile airframe and avionics package also makes it suitable for peacetime roles such as civil search and rescue, medical evacuation, disaster response, humanitarian assistance and counter drug smuggling operations. Although the helicopter in "Diary: Confession of a Soldier" is identified by Michael Kohl as a Pavehawk, its appearance resembles more closely to the UH-60M Blackhawk.

This is a HH-60P, since it has no refuelling probe.

Why is it Korean? Why can't it be the HH-60G? Trust me, I'm a Hawk expert.

Edit: it's supposed to be HH-60G. First of all, the HH-60P is a Blackhawk CSAR model of the ROKAF. In the diary of the Belkan soldier, the specified model was a Pave Hawk, which the designation for would be HH/MH-60G Pave Hawk. I don't know if it was Mr. Rods idea of the helicopter being a Korean model or sumthin, but c'mon, stick to the dang facts and not just go with favorite assumptions.

Must I really show you comparisons?

UNITED STATES AIR FORCE/ AIR NATIONAL GUARD HH-60G PAVE HAWK

The Sikorsky MH-60G/HH-60G Pave Hawk is a twin turboshaft engine helicopter in service with the United States Air Force. It is a derivative of the UH-60 Black Hawk and the US Air Force PAVE electronic systems program. The HH/MH-60 is a member of the Sikorsky S-70 family.

The MH-60G Pave Hawk's primary mission is insertion and recovery of special operations personnel, while the HH-60G Pave Hawk's primary mission is combat search and rescue (CSAR) of downed pilots. Both versions conduct day or night operations into hostile environments. Because of its versatility, the HH-60G may also perform peace-time operations. Such tasks include civil search and rescue, emergency aeromedical evacuation (MEDEVAC), disaster relief, international aid, counter-drug activities and NASA space shuttle support.

REPUBLIC OF KOREA AIR FORCE HH-60P PAVE HAWK

Combat Search and Rescue variant of UH-60P, in service with Republic of Korea Air Force. Confirmed equipment of External Tank System and FLIR for night operations. NO REFUELING PROBE.

And I assume that, even though Koreans also use the helos, it should be in the "real world operator", not "origin"...(?) CMIIW.

Dang, I'll show you the HH-60P that looks like the one in that old story. Oh and, look in the story. It has no freaking probe. I've seen HH-60P's here that had FLIR. And the occasional HH-60G/MH-47G.

-deep sigh-

Okay. Look at the edited article. Compromise, right there. While I'm leaning more on what Mr. Kohl said, Rodd's bit of info is thrown in on there. Before anyone asks why the HH-60P is a Blackhawk, many of the sources I'm finding not named Wikipedia/ask.com say otherwise.

Only concern now is maybe confusing the reader and it somewhat sounds awful because of my mediocre writing ability, but I'll let someone else take care of this

EDIT: I find it somewhat... depressing to know that this article was found by google as the 5th result.

ITT: Rod is mad.

Don't get mad and rage just cuz you're wrong. I don't care if you see these choppers up close, I can say the same being from San Jose, CA, USA, home of the 129th Rescue Wing, which my cousin is proud to be a part of. That's where my love for the 'Hawk comes from my friend.

And, in the edit someone made, they said "resembles more closely to the South Korean HH-60P Blackhawk" when in fact it resembles more just the regular UH-60M Blackhawk because in the pic, the helicopter lacks the ETS that the HH-60P model has. happy.gif
