OSEAN MARITIME DEFENSE FORCE

OFS Kestrel of the 3rd Naval Fleet

Background:
The Osean Maritime Defense Force (OMDF), is one of the world’s largest naval forces, if not the largest navy in the World. Its only rival is the Yuktobanian Navy, which it engaged in the Circum Pacific War.

The OMDF has been known to exist even before the 1600s, when the 3rd Osean Naval Fleet was commissioned. Throughout history, ship designs changed, and, the OMDF gained combat experience in many wars, including the Osean War of 1910, and the Belkan War of 1995.

An OMDF F-14 preparing to launch from the Kestrel

During the Belkan War, OMDF forces, mainly the Osean 3rd Fleet, along with the 66th Air Force Unit “Galm” from the Republic of Ustio engaged in Operation: Costner against Belkan Forces. Although outnumbered, the Osean fleet pulled through with minor damage, and continued to the Great lakes area to provide support for Allied ground forces. The flagship of the 3rd Fleet was the OFS Kestrel, which was undergoing sea-trials at the time of its actions. It would go on to become infamous during the Circum-Pacific War.

The Andromeda, an Intelligence Ship

Fifteen years after Operation Costner, the OFS Kestrel was again thrust into the middle of surprise attack at the St. Hewlett Osean Naval Port, both by air and sea threats. The Osean Air Defense Force 108th Tactical Fighter Squadron “Wardog” was sent in to defend the Kestrel at any cost, while the Kestrel launched its own squadron, VFA-206 “Shorebirds” to patrol the western area.

After the Kestrel made it out to sea, the 108th and the 206th maintained aerial superiority over the fleet, which allowed the Kestrel to smash through the Yuktobanian blockade. Following this battle, the three remaining carriers, (not including one in production), were sent to the Bannion Sea, so the Oseans could regroup their forces for a counterattack. However, after they passed through the Eaglin Straits, they came under attack by attack fighters launched from the Scinfaxi, a Yuktobanian submersible carrier. After the fighters were shot down by a joint force of OMDF and OADF squadrons, the Scinfaxi launched a burst missile attack, taking out the Buzzard and the Vulture, while the Kestrel got through unscathed. After the battle, the Kestrel and the reformed 3rd Fleet were sent out into battle against Yuktobanian Forces. However, most of the 206th Strike Fighter Squadron were shot down, save for the squadron leader, Lieutenant Marcus Snow. The Kestrel remained idle at the Kirwin Islands, awaiting replacements when the 108th Tactical Fighter Squadron, now branded as traitors, began to head north to evade Osean Forces. By order of Captain Andersen, commander of the 3rd Fleet, Marcus Snow shot down the 108th after they ejected, faking their deaths. Following the shoot-down, the 206th was deactivated, merged with the 108th, and became known as the Razgriz Air Command Squadron, a group of vigilantes trying to pull each country back from the brink of nuclear war.

The Kestrel launched many successful air operations, rescuing the kidnapped President of Osea, along with rescuing the former commander of the 108th, Captain Bartlett, along with the Prime Minister of Yuktobania, who was overthrown at the start of the war. However, the rouge 3rd Fleet finally met its demise when a Yuktobanian Fleet, along with an Osean Fleet, attacked. Fighters from the Razgriz Air Command Squadron destroyed most of each fleet, bringing the operation to a successful conclusion. However, the Kestrel was sunk by a submarine launched cruise missile. But, due to the daring of the captain, the Razgriz were launched for a final time, this time to end the war once and for all.

Following the War, the OMDF remained a prime force in the world.

Marines:
The OMDF also contains a Marine force, mainly for the defense of ships at war time, but also to conduct Combat Search and Rescue operations in numerous areas. They were mainly seen during the Glubina prison operation, and later during the rescue of Osean President Vincent Harling.

The Cormorant, one of the allied ships that gives its names when sunk in mission 26, is a Cassard because they're the only allied vessels in Seas of Chaos.

I dunno, you tell me.

WTF.

EDIT: If this is what you mean...
H-9

The H-9 is a helicopter that seems to be based on the real world UH/SH-60 helicopter. It is used for multi-mission pusposes, ranging from Search and Rescue, Special Ops Infiltration, and as a V.I.P. transport. As seen during a rescue operation in Ace Combat 5, the Osean HH-9B can be equipped with various weapons, ranging from window-mounted Gatling guns to anti-tank missiles. In Emmerian and Estovakian service, the helicopter is known as the UH-9, where like it's Osean counterpart is used for multipurpose duties.

Your right, they had CH-47Ds. So, are you going to edit it?
