Overview:
Designed as a replacement for the aging fleet of An-12 prop-driven cargo aircraft and as an equivalent to the western C-17, the four-engined jet-powered Ilyushin Il-76 was designed with the purpose of supplying areas with poor infrastructure in the former Soviet Union, as its design and ramp loading allows transport of large and heavy loads otherwise not capable of being airlifted, while it can land on a greater range of airfields than its heavier counterpart, the An-124.
In addition to its role as supply aircraft, it sees combat use as a carrier of heavy equipment such as armored vehicles or troops and deploying airborne forces; and has spawned a great number of variants ranging from command centers and AWACS to tanker aircraft, armed with only two 23mm tailguns for self defense.

JDX, that's not an Il-78. The tail structure is completely wrong as well as the wing layout. If anything, it's probably a tanker version of the C-130.
