How do you know that the F-16 in the game is an F-16CM? In fact, I've never heard of an F-16CM...

Check the respective article in the Aircraft section. Read through the discussion pages; Rodd actually did an admirable job of sourcing his deductive process for the designation.

There's just one problem: it's possible that PA themselves did not do such a job...

Note: the "Su-24MR" is actually the Su-24MP Fencer-F.

Oh, absolutely; they've been wrong many times before (The F-15 ACTIVE for instance). Like I mentioned in the article, the lack of a HARM designator made me skeptical. But ultimately I still remain impressed with the rigor.

F-16s that weren't CJs when brought up to the CM standard will not always have a HARM designator, Millie.

Nighthawk? Where? Also, wasn't the Su-33 confirmed, you know, in the release trailer?

I find it funny that the 117 is in this game even though it got it's ass retired several years ago.

The Su-33s in the release trailer were placeholders for the Su-35, this time, it's officially confirmed to be a flyable craft along with the F-117. Look at the picture below and you'll see F-117 and Su-33 in the list of aircraft being used.

Well, the F-4 and the F-14 are used by other countries, but were retired from USAF/N Service.
