The B-52 Stratofortress is the longest serving aircraft in USAF history at over 50 years on the job, and it will continue to serve the Air Force until at least 2045. The B-52H is the only remaining variant available with 92 aircraft of this type, and the last B-52 built was in 1962. It has gone through a plethora of performance upgrades throughout its service history, with the latest one being an Advanced Weapons Integration system which allows it to independently drop modern GPS-guided JDAMS and LGB's. It can hold up to 51 conventional Mk.82 GBU's and is projected to carry up to 180 of the new GBU-39 small-diameter bombs. It also has the ability to air-drop cruise missiles from stand-off distances with pinpoint accuracy. It's eight TF33-P-3/103 turbofan engines can carry a maximum payload up to a range of 8,800 miles, but in-flight refueling can extend its range with limitations only the endurance of the crew.

Hm, someone should note that these 'strategic' bombers have a 20MM Vulcan Gatling Gun in their tail.
This is evident on some harder difficulties in the AC series; where these bombers shoot at you from behind with 20MM ammunition.

There should be an armament listing under the topic itself detailing the in game weapons, though I think its only the 20mm vulcan and UGBL unless they dropped nukes during AC zero.

Only the old B-52s had tail guns, like in AC1/2. The Hs had them stripped, and they only put them on in AC6 for extra challenge. IIRC, only Tu-95s still have tail guns.

Actually, the B-52H had the tail gun remove because it would be totally ineffective against SAMS and AAMs.

Belkan airforce in ACZ has a B-52H squad called Otto. You hear Otto 5 say in mission 1 say his IFF is down.

True, but on higher difficulties on AC6, B-52s DO actually shoot back at you with the tail guns they used to have. Only on higher difficulties though.

^ I can vouch for that. AC2's also had them. Forgot about AC1 though (which curiously, was released this day 15 years ago).
