Overview:
The RT-2PM "Topol" (NATO Reporting Name: SS-25 "Sickle") is a road-mobile, single-warhead, three stage Intercontinental Ballistic Missile. It is roughly the same size as the American Minuteman ICBM, and has a range of 10,500 kilometers. It is deployed in a Transporter Erector Launcher (TEL) on the back of a 7-axle, all-terrain chassis. It is accompanied by a Mobile Command Post, which provides guidance and navigational support. The RT-2PM can also be launched from its garrison garage, which is equipped with a sliding roof.
The missile's development was approved in 1977, and was carried out by the Moscow Institute of Thermal Technology. Initial operating capability was achieved in 1985, and the first regiment with a modern mobile command vehicle was first put on alert in 1988. A MIRV version may have been tested in 1991, but there seems to have been no further development of this version since then. Production of the RT-2PM has been curtailed significantly following the demise of the Soviet Union, as the launch vehicle was manufactured in Belarus, and most of the guidance components in the Ukraine.
The Russian Strategic Rocket Forces currently operate 189 RT-2PMs, which will eventually be replaced by the RT-2UTTKh Topol-M, though the Topol-M may itself be superseded by the RS-24 Yars, which has MIRV capability.

(Side question: Should this be moved into NBC weaponry? I wasn't sure, since it primarily discusses the missile and not the warhead.)
