Overview:
The KC-10 Extender is an air-to-air tanker aircraft in service with the United States Air Force derived from the civilian DC-10-30 airliner. Though there are 59 Extenders currently in service, they are greatly outnumbered by the older KC-135 Stratotanker, though the KC-10 has a significantly larger fuel capacity. Conversion to the KC-10 involved only minor modifications to the DC-10, the largest of which was the addition of a boom control station in the rear of the fuselage and extra fuel tanks under the main deck.

The KC-10 is currently the world's longest-ranged production aircraft, and will continue to hold that record past the introduction of the Boeing 777-200LR, though future 777 variants may range further.

These are a dream to work on. Very user-friendly. Flight deck's a bit cramped, though.

Each has five lights that light up to show if the aircraft is too high/low or forward/aft.

No, because you always do the refueling during the day when the lights wouldn't help.

They help anytime, like the meatball on a carrier.

Glow in the dark guides for night ops, reflective on the IR spectrum at least... that's my best guess.

Add AH to featured games, there's a pic of it going down in flames on the AH website.

It was also in the Cinematic Trailer. Kinda crazy to have a humongous aeroplane like that falling and sliding only a mere few metres away from you. Not to mention that it is filled with fuel.

AH (Crashing) KC-10 pictures:

Well, that is definitely what you don't want to see when you're still stuck on the ground.

Oh, and I didn't find the crashing KC-10 pictures in the website, so all of those are taken from the trailer itself.

On an unrelated note, I thought it was a civilian plane at the first time I saw it until I saw the yellow line under the aft fuselage.

The first picture was the one I saw on the website, sans the IGN watermark of course. Initially, I thought it was an E-767, till I got a closer look at it.

Yeah. The no.2 engine (Tail engine) was obscured by the flame trails, and can only be seen for a split second in the trailer when the camera briefly turns to the left.

And I wish if they have a picture of AH's KC-10 in a good condition, so we can add it to the page someday later.
