Axel Bay
- An Usean Industrial City -



Background:
Axel Bay is a large City, geared towards the production of many products. Since it is primarily made up of multiple Industrial Districts, it's overall population is smaller than other cities seen in the USEA, The city itself is covered with large Factory Buildings and Smoke Stacks. Also, Naval Loading and Unloading Facilities are present at a large, nearby Channel, allowing for supplies or products to be moved in large quantities by sea.

Operation Sledgehammer:
In 1998, Axel Bay was the site of an important ship building facility; that was being used by the rebel forces. An allied bomber unit were sent in to level the facility, with the "Scarface" Special Tactical Fighter Squadron providing escort.

Operation Fragile Cargo:
The City has seen combat once during the Usean Rebellion in 1998 (Ace Combat 2), but came under a larger threat in the middle of the Corporate War in 2040 (Ace Combat 03: Electrosphere). Axel Bay comes under the threat of a terrorist Chemical attack. An unknown terrorist group contacted the UPEO and informed them that, a large Airship is sighted flying towards the city, at a trajectory which would cause it to hit a Smoke Stack and release it's deadly payload.

The UPEO was forced to dispatch pilots to Axel Bay and destroy multiple Smoke Stacks and a large Bridge in order to keep the large airship, confirmed as the UI-4052 Crailas, from releasing the Chemical Weapons.

Fortunately, no civilians were hurt during the operation, since many of the factories were closed that day, but the city did suffer severe damage.
