MISSION 12B: FOUR HORSEMEN
Operation: Folk Dance

MISSION NAME: FOLK DANCE
DATE: 2010/11/07
TIME: 0630HRS
AREA: SONZA
LOCATION: 08°15'03"N 111°04'04"E

Briefing:
I will now brief the details of your mission orders. That's all I have to say to you right now, people. If you all are really innocent, and I suggest you prove it out there on the battlefield.

We have confirmed the existence of a Yuktobanian munitions factory in the arid region of Sonza. According to our information, they have already produced a new shipment of arms that are about to be airlifted to the front by a squadron of enemy transport aircraft.

Carry out an attack on the facility and keep these transports making the delivery. Unfortunately, this factory is well protected by a solid radar network. The network consists of a group of interlinked radar sites. If even one radar site builds off-line, the system is designed to immediately report the problem to the factory. However, according to our analysis, if all four radar sites can be destroyed simultaneously, then we'll be able to delay the warning of the attack. Thanks to jamming from our electronic warfare planes, we've just managed to open up an attack quarter to the radar sites. Your squadron will split up and fly four routes, infiltrate the area, synchronize your attacks and destroy all four radar sites at the same time.

All I have to say about this one is, HOLY CRAP. I'm just breaking out my old PS2 to play Ace Combat 5 (beaten it twice now), and this is the first time i've played 12B. I just have to say it is the most overwhelmingly difficult mission I've ever played.

It just takes timing. Just stay right below afterburner speed and it won't be difficult. Just make sure that the target is on the edge of radar by 30 seconds, marked by 20 seconds, within XLAA range by 10 seconds, and within missile range before 0. It isn't very difficult as long as you don't hit the afterburners right away and then have to stall to keep from getting found out.

Personally, I find it easier to take a slower aircraft such as the A-10 or F-4G.

Ah, so it's just that. I guess using the 1.44 for that mission wasn't as good an idea as I thought it was starting off. I"m just playing through again to get the hangars.

Can you do the ADF-01 hangars on free play or does it have to be campaign?

Nope. Gotta be on career to get the FALKEN parts. If you already beat the game twice, go back and gun it with the F-117. It's good and slow, so slam down on R1 and you ought to have an easier time. You might even get the opportunity to use the GPB. Speaking of which, the only other mission in all of Ace Combat when I ever found a use for that particular weapon is Inferno in ACZ.

So let me straighten this out.

Beat the game once and move on to the B-missions, then complete the B-missions.

Then go on to the A-missions the next time around?

I personally found it a good device to disarm the bunkers in Mission 9 (Lit Fuse) and Mission 18, but helpless in Mission 18+.

Anyways, that would be it, V1.

Well it would help if I could even get the goddamn B-missions instead of Lit Fuse.

What do you mean? The division begins at Mission 10, when he asks- you read the thread.

I did read the thread, but I saved after the mission thinking it was based on performance in the mission and not "No I didn't listen to Face of the Coin Chopper."

I use either the MIG-1.44 or the F-15E for this mission.. You just have to practice the mision enough to understand the timing.... You have to be in missile range of the radar by the time Nagase reaches 5 seconds, then you can fire.. If you go before they, you FAIL.

The biggest mistake is if you get around the target too quickly and you have to circle around to time it right - Nagase will interrupt the countdown and screw you over.

I've grown to expect that.. I anticipate the interruption.

I notice how everybody spends time talking about the annoying part of the mission as opposed to the fun-filled explosion-fest that follows it. That is one reason why I'd say A-10 - supreme A2G power. That and the F-15E make good planes for this mission. If you want more speed, I'd recommend the FB-22. The SOD is a FUN weapon.

I found that the MiG-29 "Fulcrum" was an excellent plane for this mission, myself. There isn't much in the way of aerial resistance, but what little there is, the Fulcrum handles effortlessly. It's also a good little plane for the mission's ground attacks, and agile enough not to have to worry about smacking into said ground.

Naturally, it doesn't compare to the likes of the FB-22 "Concept," but I still like it. Then again, I'm biased. I fly that plane whenever I can. I just like 'em. tongue.gif

That's what I was thinking as I read the first half of your post. happy.gif

I tried using the MiG-29 for that mission, and I found that the Su-27 and F-15E produce similar results to it. It does fairly well for the first part, but it takes longer for the carpet bombing part.

That's true. The MiG-29 is great for general-purpose, but... yeah, it's not very good at achieving that spread. You have to loop around and attack targets several times to be sure that you've mopped up everything. It's still a nice little plane; very sleek and easy to handle in.

The Flanker's also excellent, too, yes. I found the Strike Eagle a little... clunky? I could be thinking of the way it handled in AC0, but it struck me as a little difficult to handle (which is apparently on-target for the real Strike Eagle; apparently they are a little picky on occasion). To each their own! I should try again with the Strike Eagle, though. Can't remember if it handles better in AC5 or not. XD

It handles better in AC5, which kind of sucks because in ACZ it has that really snappy blue and white paintjob. I still use the F-15E for Powder Keg, though.

Extensive Edid Made.

btw, i count the targets when i playing, and then i confirm with the record. But in the record appear one "missile" like Air Target.... Somebody can say me what mean that?.... i think one nuke missile charged by one C-5B, because they are the main target....
