Geography:
The geography of the Sand Island is an old volcanic island and over time eroded to an atoll. The remains of this volcano can be seen within the local area. One of the islands, that is close to the air base has mountainous features and provides evidence of this ancient volcano. Another point is that the island is appointed as wild animal preserve by Osea's Department of Interior. During the Circum-Pacific War, Sand Island Air Base acted as the home base of the 108th TFS Wardog of the Osean Military.

Operation Wisdom, 'First Flight' and Operation Vanguard:
Home of the 108th TFS War Dog and the closest Osean Base to Yuktobania. In 2010 during the Circum-Pacific War, it was raided multiple times, but repelled each attack successfully. Yuktobania's Large Scale Amphibious Assault was aimed to take Sand Island, in order to establish a front-line base, but the attack failed and resulted in the destruction of the Scinfaxi.

Oh, BTW, Sand Island is based off the real world Midway Atoll, a former US Base in WWII

Umm... when did we axe the off topic smiley? I liked him.

I was not aware that a Sand Island really existed. Still, this particular Sand Island stands alone, does it not? It's not part of an archipelago.
