- Air to Air Cruise Missile

Launch Pods - Explosions A - Explosions B - Missile Image A
GAMES FEATURED IN:
Ace Combat 6: Fires of Liberation
OPERATORS:
Estovakian Air Force
OVERVIEW:
Nimbus Missiles can attack targets at BVR, because they are in fact cruise missiles set to burst in the air and not an Air-to-Air missile, per se. The Nimbus Missiles are guided by Marker Drones launched and operated from the P-1112 Aigaion. The drones emit signals which guide the cruise missiles towards their targets. These missiles are armed with a unique warhead which, upon explosion, allows the blast to hang in the air for a certain amount of time. It is believed that they are derivatives of burst missile technology, which was initially developed by Belka, but refined and deployed by Yuktobania; however, this is unconfirmed.
These missiles are first seen in combat, deployed by the Aigaion, during the opening day of the Emmerian-Estovakian war in 2015. They were later used on Emmerian Forces as they attempted to cross Selumna Peak. These missiles were later used to engage forces at San Loma as they attempted to retake the entire area. The final time these missiles were fired was during the Emmerian attack on the Estovakian Aerial Fleet. Once the P-1112 Aigaion was destroyed by the end of the engagement, all Nimbus Missiles were destroyed and never deployed again.
