SAPIN AIR FORCE (SAF)

Background:
The Sapin Air Force saw action during the Belkan War, in 1995 (Ace Combat Zero: The Belkan War). This was the only time that the country of Sapin ever entered a war, in their modern history.*
Only two Squadrons have been confirmed at this time.

The deployed structure of the Sapin Air Force is in the style of an Air-Land unit, instead of purely air or ground units. This provides cover for the land forces, while simotaneously providing the air forces with units to take out SAMs and capture strongholds.

Espada (Sword) Squadron:
Aircraft: J35J Draken, Rafale M

Personal Information:
Name: Alberto Lopez
Rank: Captain
Call Sign: Espada One
Nationality: Sapiniard
Age: 32 (as of 1995)
Sex: Male
Status: Missing In Action

Biography:
Only very little information is confirmed about Alberto Lopez. He was in the command of the Sapin 9th Air & Land Division 11th Tactical Fighter Squadron 'Espada', using a J35J Draken fighter. It was verified that he joined a terrorist group called "A World With No Boundaries" and was assigned to escort XB-0 Hresvelgr during Operation Valkyrie over Valais Air Base. He was partnered with Marcela 'Macarena' Vasquez as his wing man, Espada 2. A rumor said that they entwined a loving relationship in private life.

Name: Marcela Vasquez
Rank: 2nd Lieutenant
Call Sign: Macarena
Nationality: Sapinard
Age: 29 [ As of 1995 ]
Sex: Female
Eyes: Brown
Hair: Brown
Status: Shot Down (Survived Belkan War)

Biography:
A former member of the Sapin Air Force, 9th Air and Land Division, 11th Tactical Fighter Squadron. 2nd Lieutenant Vasquez was a member of the Coup d'Etat squadron and an escort of the XB-0 Hrelsvelgr.

Her life was focused around two things; flying and her flight lead; Alberto Lopez. She was rumored to be in a deep relationship with him, but he was shot down in battle and had gone missing. It is speculated that he was killed in action. Soon after being shot down herself, she had left 'A World With No Boundaries' and had moved to Gran Rugido, Sapin on 28th October 2005, where she was interveiwed by Brett Thompson, an Osean Broadcasting Corportion reporter doing a story on the Belkan War.

She now makes her living as a dancer, surrounded by the things Espada 1 left behind, including the heartbreak that never lets her forget her lover and flight lead.

Suerte (Luck) Squadron:
Aircraft: Su-32 Strike Flanker

Personal Information:
Name: Ramos Gonzales
Rank: ?
Call Sign: Suerte 1
Nationality: Sapin
Age: 35
Sex: Male
Status: Killed In Action

A 20 year veteran of the Suerte troop, he served as commander of the Sapin Air Force. He was called, "Picador" for being a master marksman with the machine gun. He died in battle with Galm Flight while escorting XB-0.

Name: Ricardo Mejia

You could add that their Air Force/Army is comprised of joint Air-Land units, instead of purely air or ground units.

Okay wait... Suerte 1 is 35 years old, but the description states him as a 20 year veteran. That's weird, at the very least blink.gif

As an air force pilot. That just seems really weird to me.

You think we should call it the Royal Sapin air force since Sapin has a monarchy?

How do we know that the Belkan War was the only conflict involving the SAF?

Because they have never appeared outside ACZ, so we cannot be sure whether the SAF involved in other conflicts or not.

In that case, the article should state that is is presumed that the SAF participated only in the Belkan War.

They probably provided logistical support during the war.

Plausible. They might be providing logistics to allied forces via Arlon, or some other unknown supply routes.
