- Ace Combat 04 is the fourth installment of the Ace Combat Series on the PlayStation 2. It is also the first Ace Combat game for the PS2.


Plot:
2004. The continent of USEA is in turmoil as the Western Federation of Erusea begins its attacks on the neighboring Independent States, after the fragments of an asteroid set the world in ruins. Now the Independent States Allied Forces (ISAF) is trying to retake their rightful land, against all odds. You are the tip of the ISAF counterattack as Mobius 1.


Location:
The game takes place in various regions of the Usean Continent.


Cutscenes:
In AC04, the cut scenes are in the form of stylized still animations, narrated by another character following the steps of the player. There are also a few cut scenes using aircraft models from the game at the end or beginning of some missions.


Aircraft and Weapons:
18 aircraft, including one fictional super aircraft. Each aircraft has three different paint schemes. There are 15 special weapons made available for purchase through the campaign.


Control Scheme:
Circle Button = Missiles
Square Button = Map (pressure sensitive. More pressure makes the map larger.)
Triangle Button = View Target (Hold), Switch target (Tap)
X Button = Gun

L2/R2 (directional) = Yaw left/right
Down (directional) = Change View (HUD, Cockpit, 3rd Person)
Up (directional) = Autopilot (Hold)
Left/Right (analog) = Roll left/right
Down /Up (analog) = Climb/Dive

L1 = Decrease throttle
R1 = Increase throttle

Select = Switch to Sp. Weapons/Switch to Normal Missiles
Start = Pause menu


Multiplayer
AC04 is the second Ace Combat game with a split-screen Multiplayer mode, where two players can go head-to-head in a dogfight in three maps without enemies. They can also dogfight while taking on enemy aircraft, the Yellow Squadron or a contest for points by destroying air and ground targets.

The first sentence sounds like a run on sentence and there's a tense issue. Usea is in turmoil as Erusea began its attacks? How about "Usea is in turmoil as Erusea begins its attacks after the impact of the Ulyssses astroid." Also 'Usea' doesn't need to be in caps and Erusea isn't spelt 'Erusia'

Multiplayer:
AC04 is the second Ace Combat game with a split-screen Multiplayer mode, where two players can go head-to-head in a dogfight in three maps without enemies. They can also dogfight while taking on enemy aircraft, the Yellow Squadron or a contest for points by destroying air, and ground targets.

There's no need for a comma after 'air'.
