Background Information
After being in Erusian Control since 2003, San Salvacion was finally about to be liberated by ISAF Forces. San Salvacion, was once a neutral city at the beginning of the war, but soon became an Erusian strong point, thanks to it’s geographical location.

Fresh from Destroying Stonehenge, ISAF GHQ begins to rally ISAF Troops all across the continent to prepare for a push into Erusea itself. However, before they could do this, they had to liberate the last of any ISAF Member State’s city, San Salvacion. Due to it’s location, it had become a vital strong point in the Erusian Defense and had to be removed, besides that. Also, the people of San Salvacion were a Top Priority of the ISAF and had to be liberated.

A large coordinated attack was planned; their main target was an Erusian Tank Battalion in Old Town. They also were to move and attack Erusian Forces near the Government complex in New City. As the Ground Forces did this, they would also be supported by the local San Salvacion Resistance in the city, who had already been planting explosives on Erusian Equipment in the city. The ISAF Air Forces would be tasked with providing Air Support for the Allied Ground Forces and the suppression of any Erusian Air Strikes coming from San Profetta Air Port in the North.

The Erusian Forces had begun to prepare for the imminent Operation. In both New City and Old Town Erusian Anti-Aircraft Gunners had set-up a top of Office Buildings, and Hospitals. Rocket Artillery units were set outside of each City and KA-60 Alligator Attack Helicopters were also to take up position near the Government Complex. The Erusian Fighter Squadron Stationed at the Airport was to focus on breaking through the ISAF Defense line and provide Air Support for their troops, while engaging ISAF aircraft; with them, the 156th TFS Aquila was to focus on intercepting any ISAF Aircraft. San Salvacion was the Aquila’s frontline Air Base and where they had operated from since the war’s beginning. One Yellow was assigned to New City, two were to protect San Profetta Air Port and two were assigned to Old Town, where most of the action would take place.

The ISAF decided that Operation: Fire Fly would take place on July 10th 2005 around Midnight. That night during the mandatory black outs, all the city lights suddenly turned on and the attack began at 12:05am Usea central meantime.

With all the lights on, Erusian Forces were easier to spot in the city. ISAF Aircraft had begun to raid the Government Complex first and bomb multiple Tank or Artillery Units in each area. The ISAF Fighters had suppressed the Erusian Attack Helicopter Unit and engaged fighters over Old Town, and suppressed Air Strikes from San Profetta. The Yellow Squadron engaged ISAF Fighters and managed to slow many of the ISAF Air Strikes. But, eventually, Erusian Commanders saw that the city was soon going to be lost. With their KA-60s destroyed they could not maintain control of the Government Complex, The Airport was under heavy attack and their Aircraft were busy evading ISAF Fighters, the Yellow Squadron, while effective at halting or slowing ISAF Fighters were being bogged down and reports of them sustaining losses had come in. Finally, the Tank Battalion on Route 7 was being pushed back by bombing and advancing forces.

The General Order to pull out was issued and the Erusian Forces began their retreat. However, not wanting the city to fall into Allied hands, they had called in a Heavy Bomber Unit comprised of Six Tu-160 Blackjack Bombers. The ISAF Fighters were then vectored onto them as they began to take up a Bombing Pattern over New City. During the attack, New City did sustain damage, but was kept to a minimum. The Bomber group was destroyed an the Erusian Military had pulled out of San Salvacion.

In the middle of the night the people of the city began singing the Usea Hymn of Liberty. When the sun arose and the ISAF Forces moved into the city, the Resistance members had captured many Erusian AA Gunners and other troops and turned them over to the ISAF. San Salvacion then became a rallying point for the remaining ISAF Forces to gather and prepare to cross the Erusian Border.
