OVERVIEW:
The M167 Vulcan Air Defense System (VADS) is a ground-based version of the 20mm M61 Vulcan cannon, mounted on a towed chassis. It was intended to protect forward area combat elements (i.e. ground troops) and rear area critical assets. The M167 has been retired from active use.
