INFORMATION:
Although the V1 designation was given to a tactical warhead, the V2 is a delivery system for Multiple Independently target-table Re-entry Vehicle (MIRV) warheads rather than a nuke itself. MIRVs split up following the boost phase to attack separate targets; although the warheads themselves are of relatively small yields (many non-MIRV'ed strategic nukes reaching into the megaton range while MIRV'ed warheads are several hundred kilotons), their ability to strike at numerous targets make them a potent weapons system. This MIRV bus is specifically designed to carry eight W87 nuclear warheads, initially designed with a 300kt yield, but later upgraded to 475kt.
OVERVIEW:
The V2 was, like the V1 and other superweapons developed prior to the Belkan War, part of Project Pendragon. This program was initiated to give Belka strategic superiority over potential adversaries, through both superior delivery systems such as the V2 and ABM systems including Excalibur.
Though its individual warheads were probably of a lesser yield than the V1s dropped by Belka to end the war, its ability to launch eight from a single delivery system made the Allies consider it a serious threat when one (presumably a prototype as it has only one warhead and Pops states in 2010 that no V2s were completed during the war) fell into the hands of A World With No Boundaries. This example was destroyed, however, exploding high in the atmosphere during its boost phase.
More V2s were constructed, and one in particular played a significant role in the Circum-Pacific War. Held in Gründer Industries' inventory since the Belkan War, it was loaded into the SOLG, an Osean orbital railgun built for nuclear delivery. Upon the discovery of their complicity in starting the war, the Grey Men intended to launch its warheads at various cities around the globe. Although its control center was destroyed by a joint Yuktobanian-Osean force, an automatic reaction was triggered, and its orbit began to deteriorate. Programmed by the Belkans to fall on Oured, it was destroyed before it could strike the city.
