Nano-Byte

Weapon Information
Developer: Neucom Inc.
Deployment: The Corporate War (Ace Combat 3:Electrosphere
Year of Deployment: 2040
A technology under research/development at Neucom Inc. that uses minute particles at the Nano (10^-9 meters) scale. Neucom Inc. commenced development of minute particles that will endure any theoretical conditions. It succeeded in directly injecting programs into these particles. As a result, because it can perform work at the Nano-scale where it executes its program, the Nano-robot became a reality.

History
The product was released by Neucom Inc. in 2038 as "Nano-byte". Because it is capable of adapting to extreme conditions and self-replication, plans for its use include practical applications in construction and space development, as well as a new energy source replacing nuclear power.

In 2040, during the Neucom Inc. - General Resource LTD Corporate-War (Ace Combat 03) Experimental Nano-Bytes were gathered in large amounts, at a Neucom Facility for construction purposes. However, the Nano-Bytes suddenly began to malfunction for an unknown reason and began to attack everything around them. They continued to self-replicate and built large Cocoons constructed of other Nano-Bytes and began to spread into the environment around them.

The Universal Peace Enforcement Organization dispatched their Special Armed Response Force (SARF) to the area, equipped with Anti-Nano-Byte Bombs. During their operation Rena Hirose, an SARF Pilot, was attacked by the Nano-Bytes. The swarmed onto her aircraft and began to eat away at it's Structure, Systems and even began to infect her body. The Nano-Bytes attempted to infect her heart and convert it into a machine, itself. A supporting AI, named Nemo, fired an Anti-Nano-Byte Bomb onto her aircraft and saved her life.

The Nano-Bytes were neutralized at the end of the operation.

In the Mission "Bug Hunt", they build large figures of themselves. From what I saw of one of these figures, I estimate that they finished it in ten seconds.

Prolly by disassembling/assembling molecules and creating a chain reaction of sorts. Useful in space since only thing there are traces of elements of which hydrogen is the most abundant and they could smash these hydrogen atoms together to create cold fusion.

QUOTE (lincer556 @ Apr 11 2008, 11:47 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
-not an official picture of a Nano-Byte, but an Icon most likely associated with infected Nanos. Due to the size of a Nano-Byte, they cannot be seen by the naked human eye, making it hard to get a picture of them. -
actually, that is the official image of the nanobite showed in the game, i mean the sad one, not the happy one
