GENERAL INFORMATION:
The Shock Wave Ballistic Missile is a product of the Leasath Military's research in Meson particle technology, before the year 2020. The weapon itself is a modified ballistic missile, designed to hold an expendable cyclotron accelerator (or a device that would operate in a similar manner) to cause a Meson 'fuel' to ignite. This fuel acts as the weapon's warhead. Moments before the SWBM detonates, this fuel is dispersed by the SWBM in a circular, horizontal wave before the SWBM ignites the fuel to emit a shockwave. To further explain, the SWBM's detonation is similar to that of a Fuel Air Explosive. Upon detonation, the SWBM emits a large shock wave which damages aircraft flying at high altitudes. The weapon's shockwaves are less effective at lower altitudes, due to atmospheric pressure differences at lower and higher altitudes.
HISTORY:
The Shock Wave Ballistic Missile was first seen in the Leasath-Aurelia War of 2020. the SWBM was only deployed on the Leasath Military's Airborne Fortress known as the "Gleipnir". Coupled with Retro-reflective Projection Technology, various other forms of stealth, the Shock Cannon and the SWBM, the Gleipnir it lead Leasath armed forces into Aurelian territory. With the Gleipnir leading the advance, almost all territories within the Aurelian border were brought under Leasath control in eleven days.
As the Leasath Military moved into the southern area of Aurelia, Aurelian forces began a counterattack. The SWBM was deployed against the remnants of the Aurelian Military at Cape Aubrey, Stand Canyon and Terminus Island. Though a hinder rance at first, the Aurelian Air Force managed to force the Gleipnir to protect its Maitenance Station at Santa Elva. It was at Santa Elva that the Gleipnir was put out of commission by the Aurelian Air Force's Gryphus Squadron and the Shock Wave Ballistic Missile was no longer deploy-able along the Aurelian Front.
