Geography
Located in the Aurelian Sea in Sentry Island, the Leasath High Security Military Compound "Archelon Fortress" was built in secret by the Leasath Military sometime before the year 2020. The island provides a full view on all sides, preventing it from being invaded. The fortress itself houses, among other weapons, a Shock Cannon on the peak, an improved version of the Gleipnir's, with a faster reload time. The island on which Archelon Fortress was built is essentially a fortress with barely no vegetation or wildlife.
Leasath-Aurelia War - End of Deception
The impregnable fortress was discovered at the end of the Aurelia-Leasath War in 2020, by the Aurelian Air Force. After a succession of defeats forced him to leave the mainland, Leasath Commander Diego Gaspar Navarro was fled to the fortress, but in the process bought more time do unveil his latest creation. Besides being a base, the fortress was also a production facility for the advanced attack aircraft "Fenrir".
Archelon Fortress was assaulted by the Aurelian Aquila and Gryphus Squadrons, lead by the "Southern Cross", Gryphus One. Leasath pilots intercepted them in the Fenrir, mounted with microwave weaponry (HPM) and optical camouflage. Despite the odds, the Fenrirs were shot down. As a last resort, the Shock Cannon atop the fortress was activated. It was an improved version of the Gleipnir's Shock Cannon, with a faster reload time. That, however, didn't stopped it from being destroyed by Gryphus One.
In an alternative scenario, the Alect Squadron, Leasath's elite squadron, manned the Fenrir, but without access to the HPM. Still, the combination of the Alect Squadron, the optical camouflage, and the prowess of the Fenrir itself proved nearly impossible to beat. Fortunately, a small Aurelian landing force was able to bypass the fortress's naval defenses and land on the island, mid-battle. They then proceeded to destroy the electrical power transmitter, which powered the optical camouflage, nullifying Fenrir's cloaking. Gryphus One eventually shot down the Alect Squadron. He then flew into the Fortress itself to destroy a fleeing Fenrir, while Aurelian ground forces planted explosives around the facility, causing it to self-destruct. Gryphus One managed to escape the base as it exploded in a massive fireball.
Though the Leasath Commander escaped back to Leasath, the war was over and his plans to release the Fenrir, the truth behind the war, were foiled.
