Mission 02: Vitoze Aerial Defense
ON THE BRINK

-The Town of Vitoze-

Vitoze Image #2

Date > 9:11 AM; November 24, 2015
Area > Vitoze > Khesed Island

Mission Briefing:
A large-scale formation of Estovakian bombers is heading towards Vitoze -- a city here on the island of Khesed. The enemy's plotting to storm Campagna Airport, where our military is stationed, to stamp us out and put an end to this thing. Enemy bombers are approaching Vitoze from the north. Our advance team estimates they'll be above the city in about 15 minutes. Air units are to cooperate with our radar facilities and resume operations. An enemy takeover of Vitoze would mean the ultimate destruction of our country Emmeria -- and of our Emmerian people. Intercept them at once!

COMBAT LIST
Mission Type

Air-to-Air

-> AIRCRAFT
(?) F/A-18F (Hard or higher)
(?) Mir-2000-S
(?) F-4E
(1) F-16 EDINOROG

(10) B-52H Stratofortress TGT

-> ALLIES
Windhover's Squadron
Avalanche's Squadron
Emmerian Radar Stations
Emmerian Tanks
AA Batteries (AA Guns, SAMs, Flak Guns, Launchers)

Overview:
Up to this point, Emmeria's remaining military was stationed all at Campagna Airport, meaning that the destruction of this vital facility and a takeover of Vitoze would remove the country of Emmeria from the map (as described in the mission briefing). REAF forces were sent immediately to intercept the bombers, and they successfully destroyed all targets. The operation's completion allowed the Emmerian Forces enough time to initiate a counterattack, which was to happen at Sipli Field.

Superhornets appear in this mission too. They tend to come in packs of four, going after you. Tad bit annoying, especially if you're flying a Mobby-22 or Yellow-33. dry.gif Sadly, I don't know of there's a finite amount of the F/A-18Fs or not.

I'll check that out soon, is there any specific difficulty where you found them? I originally made this article, and never saw any F-18s converging upon Vitoze...

They do appear on hard or higher; although, I didn't find them too difficult to dispatch.
